Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru - 05

Mizuho learns more about the mysterious ghost Ichiko, and her connections to the reason why Mizuho was sent to this school.

Impressions:

Wow, I was completely and utterly surprised near the end. I didn’t expect for Ichiko to leave, and even though she didn’t in the end that bit was a bit surprising. Once it happened I had guessed a bit that they would just bring her back, but it was so sudden I was a bit rattled. They just introduced her, she is in the OP and ED, or ED at least, plus she seems to be a pretty interesting character that they can have some good humor bits with later on.

Although I had guessed this in the last episode, we finally get actual confirmation on why exactly Mizuho was sent to this school. Not much I can theorize about that, although I was ready to until they actually said it in this episode. I don’t think its all about the Ichiko and her connection, but more just that her mother went to the school in general, staying in the same room and so on. I don’t see how they would know that a ghost of Ichiko exists so I don’t’ think that he was sent there because of that, just because it seemed his mother died early on in his life and so him being at the school connects him to her.

They didn’t show her much, but Kei, the seemingly occult girl seems interesting. It’s pretty much a given she was referring to Ichiko when she told Mizuho good job. Although I don’t think anything serious will come from that or anything, its at least some point of interest to see what she adds to the show, comedy wise only likely.

I thought she would have left, and not came back. Oh well, I think she’s cute, esp for floating pantsu shots!

I knew she wouldn’t leave. She’s in the OP and ED depicted as a main character with the other main characters. Also, I’m pretty sure the grandpa sent Mizuho to stay in that room simply because his mother did. They knew nothing about the ghost, as you said. I guess the old man was thinking of that place as some sort of special room of remembrance of something like that.
