Allen and Lenalee face off against the Earl after Allen describes his past and his first encounter with the Earl.
Impressions:
There was a lot more action in this episode then there had been in some of the previous ones. Although for the most part the fights weren’t that innovative. As they went from fighting an evolved Akuma to fighting the basic ones again. Although there were a lot of the basic ones. Still I think this episode almost held a bit more weight just because of the large Earl focus it had. The Earl is the one orchestrating everything and to have a confrontation with him this early is rather interesting I think. Although he himself didn’t do much fighting, there was still the whole plot device of showing the leader of the bad guys not just brooding somewhere where he never comes face to face with the good guys till the end, they changed that.
Wow, Lenalee kicks ass. Although she was struck down in the battle when Allen wasn’t, her weapon so far is definitely the coolest. As long as the “Dark Boots” aren’t actual boots she wears and has them activate and more like they do materialize on her feet, then its cool, otherwise she can loose them and they wouldn’t be that great. Although its still to be debated how good her weapon is, I’m sure Allen’s seems so amazing because eh is the main character, but for a while Lenalee was just jumping from Akuma to Akuma, destroying them as she landed. Plus the fact that she can fly and neither Allen nor Kanda can do that, and that her weapon and ability looks ungodly cool and graceful.
Ok, I don’t think this is THAT big of a deal, but as I’ve said a couple of other times there is a scene in the ED where it shows four people wearing top hats. The ones we see are the Earl, Allen, and General Cross. There is a fourth that we don’t think and I’m guessing that that is Mana. Again, I don’t really think this has any importance at all, but it’s just a kind of cool scene I think and finally figured out fourth guy, because when they showed Mana he had a top hat on and they never showed his face in either one so again it kind of fits.

O_O; If the fourth guy with the top hat is Mana, I think that’d be pretty important xD That fourth guy, along with the other characters that’s feature around the same time with him, could be like future enemies, the way I see it xD LIke really evolved Akuma or something. Then again, Mana’s dead, so that wouldn’t be possible if I were to follow my own theory xD But that’s interesting, I never thought about that. I do find it a mystery as to why they don’t show Mana’s face.
This episode rubbed me wrong, not necessarily the content, but something about its presence. I will agree that Lenalee’s gear is hawt!!! D.Gray is good at creating mystery so far, but something about the coordination of this ep didnt feel right, *shruggs* oh well ^^ I continue to watch
maybe mana is someone important that will appear in the later episodes? but so far i haven’t seen anything about that in the manga…at first i thought the fourth guy is one of the members of the Noah family…what was his name? Tyki Mikk i think…
