Well, you may be wondering why this post comes so late in the night. Well, actually probably not because no one pays attention to the time stamp. Anyways, as some of you may know Gamestop held a midnight release party and selling for this game. Well, I had decided that I’m not pathetic enough for just buying my games the day they come out, I MUST HAVE THEM THE INSTANT! So that’s where I was and I got this.
I got the Collectors Edition of not only the game, but of the guide as well. The game came wiht a bonus disk and a metal case, and the guide came with an art book with one of six exclusive covers.

The game box, and the inside which had the game disk and bonus disk. The bonus one is the one underneath, and yes its upside down but if I switched it around then the title for the bonus disk woudl be cut off. This is the way it came so I left it.
Just the fact that this game has a freaking metal box means it towers above all other games and makes them wish they had never been developed.
Next is the guide. The guide and the art book were inside a cardboard like cover to hide which cover it was before selling.

This is the guide that I got. It’s a character named Basche, he is soem captain and uses a sword. I dont know the character yet so as long as he turns out to be fairly cool I’ll be happy with this.
And no, that is not my thumb on the picture of the back of the guide (lower right). It’s the continuation of his arm from the picture of the front.
The artbook cover, hard to take a good picutre but just the front of this is beatiful. The stuff isndie is great and I’m not going to try and take pictures of the isnide because 1) It’s hard because fo the creas and I don’t want to damage the book and 2) I’m lazy.

Part of me reacts to this post with a hearty Ogre-from-Revenge-Of-The-Nerds guttural roar of “NERRRRRRRDS!!!” Another part of my thinks that if you were a real Final Fantasy nerd, you wouldn’t have posted about it until after you had several hours of obsessive/compulsive gameplay under the hood already. Enjoy, either way.
Nice. But I think I would be just as happy with the game and the strategy guide. Strategy guides are very helpful. Oh well, it’s cool a true FF fanboy would buy the limited edition.
I can’t wait for this game. I can’t get it this saturday. Lack of funds, once I get the money, i’m getting it and my special edition guide like you. This is going to be such a good game since .hack//G.U. is over for now.
Whoa, I got the same cover for the LE guide xD I’m still early in the game, but I currently don’t like Basch for what he did to Reks T__T
Just keep playing is all I can say :D
Although he isn’t my favorite character still not a bad guide picture, I haven’t beaten it or anything but it seems likely for me to favor a party of Ashe, Vaan, and Fran. Will try my best to keep balanced though.

my bf has played over 100 hours of game play on final fanticy XII and he loves it.
but any way i just got one question he too preordered it and he did not get the map that you have is that item a one chance opertunity or something? also take good care of that book it wreaks easly trust me.:(
The map came in the guide. I don’t know if it was Collectors Edition guide specific, but you have to rip it out of the back of the guide, its got perferated edges so its not like you are really doing any damage.
