Haseo treis to deal with his sudden drop in power, as he is thrown into the msytery of Project G.U. and the power that Haseo has inside of him.

Summary:

• Haseo logs in to find out that he has reset back to level one. He wonders what’s going on and hears some people talking about a guy in with a weird arm. Haseo realizes its Ovan and thinks he might know what happened, so runs after him. He sees Ovan ands tarts to follow him but looses track of him.
• Haseo then bumps into Silabus and Gaspard from Canard, who help him out because he is a “noob” as they think and their guild helps them out. Haseo tries to tell them what happened but they don’t believe him. Haseo goes with them through a dungeon and in the end; Bordeaux appears saying she has been looking for Haseo for revenge.
• Bordeaux says how she also didn’t recognize him, and Silabus and Gaspard get that Haseo was telling the truth. Bordeaux advances and Haseo drops to his knees and says how it feels like something is growing, and there are data flashes. Pai appears and says how that’s enough. She says how she called Lunar Tree Guild is on their way, and since they don’t exactly go well with PKers Bordeaux and co. run off saying they will meet again.
• Pai tells Haseo how his character contains a dangerous power, and heads off as their attitudes kind of clash. Haseo says how if this dangerous power can help him against Tri Edge then he will keep fighting.
• After retuning to the Root town, Gaspard and Silabus ask if Haseo should get help from the Lunar Tree guild if he is being targeted by PKs. Haseo says how they don’t exactly see eye to eye, and he says how he doesn’t want help from those weirdo people who made some charity guild. Just then Haseo realizes Atoli teleported in behind him and has heard all that.
• Atoli yells at Haseo saying he doesn’t get what they are trying to do. She says that she will show him what the Lunar Tree Guild is trying to do and give shim her member address. After a while you go to an area with Atoli and after getting the treasure and everything Atoli says she hears something. After following her you arrive at a large rock pillar with a Sign on it and Haseo sys this means Tri Edge has been here.
• All of a sudden the sign pulses and they are dragged in, and forced teleported to a new area with a large glowing tree in the middle of a lake. They see at the base of the tree someone, Endrance, sitting on the roots at the base, waving his hand around causing a black bubbly thing to move around. Endrances’s cat meows and he looks at it and then walks away.
• Atoli wonders what he was dong so chases after him but someone yells that it’s dangerous, and to stop. A huge black bubbly thing appears and towers over the two of them, a blue glowing thing in the center f it. Atoli screams and then faints, reminding Haseo of Shino. The AIDA, black bubbly thing, shoots energy at Haseo and Atoli but the man who yelled runs forth and stops it, creating the image of a creature.
• Kuhn, the man who yelled, starts glowing and yells take this, Magus! And all of a sudden his Avatar, a huge creature appears and Haseo finds himself in some plane. Magus, which is/is controlled by Kuhn fights the AIDA and defeats it. He returns to normal and just asks the two of them if they are ok.
• Atoli asks who Kuhn is and he stumbles around and says he is an investigator for CC Corp. Atoli asks if he is an admin and he says not really. He says he got a report of a bug here and came over, so its best if the two of them left until the data finishes disappearing. Haseo says there is no way in hell that was a bug data. He says how Atoli fainted in real life at the time. He also asks what that puppet thing was that defeated it.
• Kuhn is a bit surprised, saying how he was able to see the avatar. Kuhn says that he is sure Haseo would want to know more about Avatars, even though Haseo says not really, Kuhn says he can use one too because he was able to see his. Kuhn tells him to come over to their headquarters; while he’s at it he may find information about Tri Edge. Haseo asks where he learned of that and Kuhn says that’s just another reason he should come.
• Haseo eventually heads over to the Raven home, which is the guild Kuhn is in. There he finds out Pai is also in the guild. Haseo goes to talk with Yata and Yata explains some things to Haseo, such as there is a phenomena occurring in the world. One of which he has experience himself. He talks about AIDA and how it is a problem in the world, and then he mentions Tri Edge and says how the ability Data Drain that he used isn’t normal, that he is a phenomenon. Haseo ask if Tri Edge is AIDA but Yata says they aren’t sure. Yata says how they are working on the problem about the phenomena and what happened to Shino and such. Yata then says how it’s not their fault for Shino’s condition. He says the key to solve the riddle of AIDA, Tri Edge, and the comatose players is the game itself.
• Yata goes on to say that they need the power that is in Haseo’s character. People with this power they need are called epithet users, Pai and Kuhn are also them. Haseo summaries that they need the Epitaph User’s power which are the Avatars in order to de bug the system of the AIDAs. Yata says that eventually Haseo will be able to use his Avatar, but it just has not awakened yet.
• Haseo heads out and runs into Silabus and Gaspard. He ends up helping them run a shop where he meets Sakubo who is trying to buy something. He finds out he shares the character with his sister, they are twins and it’s their birthday so Haseo gives Bo something for free. Atoli sees this and says how he really is kind and Haseo gets embarrassed and tries to yell at her to hide what he did.
• Just then he runs into Kuhn who is flirting with some girls. Kuhn had told Haseo he couldn’t teach him about Avatars because of an appointment, which was this. Haseo yells at him and eventually Kuhn and Pai take Haseo out to teach him about avatars.
• I the field, Pai tells Haseo how he epithet users character was created by CC Corp several years ago. They go on to say that the Epitaph Users can turn into Avatars, altering their data. Haseo asks about data drain and Kuhn says that is about altering data so avatars have that ability. Kuhn says to summon an avatar you have to rely on the characters feelings. Haseo says that’s bull, how can binary data be controlled by feelings (holy shit, he actually thinks for himself) Pai just says their characters are different; they are linked to the characters.
• Haseo goes through the field fighting but isn’t able to awaken his Avatar. He asks Pai and Kuhn why and they just say they aren’t sure, and eventually they head back, Haseo discouraged. Pai tells him how awakening his avatar wont make him happy, that it’s a great power that has great responsibility (/sigh)

Impressions:

One thing that I found a bit odd was that Silabus and Gaspard weren’t expecting Haseo at all. Although in Roots Kuhn had told Gaspard and Silabus that Haseo is going to need their help. They even were a bit surprised saying why the Terror of Death would need their help and Kuhn said that he may have gone through a change and needs help. They didn’t at all act like that even happened, although I guess it wasn’t’ too much of a big deal.

Magus was awesomely cool. One thing that still amazes me is although the look of them is drastically different; there are defiantly aspects of them that are similar to their old game counterparts. Such as magus used to be a stem with several leaves, and his arms were like that in this one although body and head different.

Right now Endrance is defiantly a pretty big mystery. First off he was in a Lost Ground that you were only able to access by accident though a Sign. Also, he is an Epitaph user, although we technically don’t know that yet, yet he seems to be either AIDA infected or able to manipulate it somehow, which kind of contrasts each other.

I loved the character advancement they had in this episode. First off I thought Kuhn was hilarious. The way he was flirting with those girls and how he basically blew off teaching Haseo about Avatars, something that could effect thee world the game and have real life effects, to go on a date flirting with girls. I also love Sakubo. Although technically we’ve only been introduced to Bo, so far he was just fun to watch and defiantly I think when Saku is introduced her attitude from what I know about her will be great, considering their switching.

Ok, I do admit that there are occasions in the game that don’t make sense. Not about the plot or anything, but just some instances such as Haseo’s question, “How did you recognize me?” to Atoli. Um, looked at the name that appears next to you when you are targeted? Although not a big deal at all, and it doesn’t affect the story. I just found it a bit amusing to see some things like that.

Email bonus! The bonus for the old save data is an email from BlackRose and someone else. I care about the BlackRose one, it was so cool. It was targeted at Kite saying how much she misses the times they had together. It was really very cool. It mentioned how much she appreciated him and how she was sorry about any time she yelled. It mentioned her saying she may love Kite but then she said psyche, phht, still hope maybe. Mentioned how she hopes to return sometime to the game.
