Ah! My Goddess 2nd Season - 22 [Final]

Belldandy finds that all of a sudden Keiichi and Hild have a close relationship and tries to figure out what Hild has done to capture Keiichi like that.

Impressions:

I loved this episode, I thought that it was really interesting how Hild kind of stole Keiichi away from Belldandy, and that they had to go back into the past. They hadn’t really shown much to do involving the past or anything so the whole subject of having to go into the past to change things was rather untouched, so very interesting to see. Plus there was just interesting to see Belldandy going to high school like that. Although there are hundreds of anime that have school romance clichés like they showed, it was really fun to watch them in this episode because that isn’t what they normally focus on, so seeing the familiar characters in that situation was really fun to watch.

The Hild episodes for the most part I find really interesting. Although she has actually been the cause of a lot of the stuff recently, her and Marller, I wasn’t quite expecting her to have this much involvement after she left for Hell the first time she appeared.

I loved the whole bit with Skuld being in elementary school. Now, that could quite possibly because I’m a Skuld fanboy and like any bit she has, but still. I loved how she was complaining that she was too old to be in elementary school, but then after her classmates treating her to candy and everything she liked it.

Final Words:

Ah! My Goddes 2nd Season was prtty much what I expected it to be. There were a lot of similarities to the general feel of things tha the first season had. The one thing that I guess I think might have made AMG a tad bit better was more advancment in Keiihi and Belldandy’s realtionship, I man they havn’t even kissed yet and if they had it wasn’t that big of a deal, as they didn’t put that much emphasis on it to make me remember it. Although its not that bad of a thing, its something I guess I was always hoping for. I guess the thing that I will always think of Ah! My Goddess is that it is a bit more sophistcated romance. It isn’t like the school romance where you get a guy confessing to a girl or vice versa, the two are already together and you know they will end up togheter, but the show is more of seeing how the feeligns develop and the sweet moments such as one saying that the will always be with the other after some big event that causes the other one to get all depressed.

I was a tad surprised at lack of a final conflict in this seson. In fact, I didn’t even know this was the last episode when I first posted this, this Final Words entry was posted after I found out. In the first season, there ws like a three episode long arc that was a final conflict, however in this episode the final conflict that they deal with was all taken care of in one episode. For this to have had the same kind of ending the first season did, Belldandy would have to be in the past for two to three episodes. Although like I said above I ddn’t really expect there to be that much of an advancment between Belldandy and Keiihi, I just thought there woudl be more of a final conflict. In sumation, the ending overall was actually a tad disapointing. Although I know there wouldn’t be anything concretly huge happenign between Keiichi and Belldandy, I had hoped that they would have kissed or said they loved each other more directly. Also, perhaps for the final event to have spanned one more episode.

The candy part with Skuld was hilarious! I love all of the characters. The school yard fight between Mother and child was something I would never have expected. I was not as happy with the episode, but it wasn’t bad and it ended well.

Watching Skuld come to K1’s defense briefly defining Belldandy as his, only to take back posession was the funniest part. The “Ah My Goddess” warning in the background was a close second.

Its good but didnt quite make an impact as a final episode though :P However, I still loved this episode and all of AMG so far, its a great anime! Thank you for the beautiful screenshots too.

I wonder why Urd had to wear a school uniform that is different?

And yes the Ah My Goddess words that went on at the background was very funny hehe.

I hope there’s gonna be a continuation in Season.. I’ll never grow bored with AMG lol.

Wow, I actually didn’t realize this was the last episode untill I looked it up and saw it. I edited the post to include a Final Words section like all my season/series final episode posts have so check it out.

Well, there are 2 more episode but they are DVD version and won’t come out till Feb 7, 2007 I think. Pretty sure this is the last season for AMG. They pretty much have used up all the materials they can get from the manga and make it to an animation. S3 is really highly unlikely in my opinion (though I really wish for one XD)
