Niina, the eccentric girl from Marie’s class tries to make friends with Marie even though she is rather anti-social, and ends up getting some help from Yuuji, Kazuki, and Hatsune.

Summary:
- Kazuki and Yuuji go through a normal morning routine of Yuuji trying to do perverted things. We see for a little ways off, the blonde haired girl from Marie’s class watching the action on the balconies with her binoculars. She sees Marie and exclaims how she has found Marie’s house.
- The four of them all head off to school when we see the blonde haired girl run up to them, Marie trying to hide behind Hatsune. She introduces herself as Niina. Niina tries to be friendly to Marie, being close to her but Marie avoids her and eventually runs away to school, but Nina just chases her.
- Throughout school Niina keeps bugging Marie about different things, asking her questions, always following her around. Marie tries to run away from her, but Niina keeps following her.
- After school, Marie runs home, managing to loose Niina. However she is approached by several cats and they cause Marie to backup up against a wall, being deathly afraid of cats. Niina appears and tries to fight the cats off for her, protecting Marie. Yuuji and Kazuki turn the corner seeing this and Yuuji acts quickly, throwing them some leftover food from lunch. Niina catches it and throws it so the cats head off, saving Marie.
- Yuuji tells Kazuki and Niina how Marie is anti social and doesn’t like people who are eccentric like Niina. Niina looks really sad, saying how she just wanted a friend, but after Kazuki scorns at Yuuji, he asks if she wants to eat dinner with them.
- Marie gets home to find Niina there helping to cook dinner. Marie prepares dinner with her, Niina trying her best not to be clingy or anything. She makes dumpling with her, but hers are deformed compared to Marie’s perfect looking ones. At the dinner table Niina is feeling down abut her bad looking one and Yuuji picks them up saying how they look bd. Kazuki looks pissed at Yuuji for saying this but Marie picks one up and eats it, and Yuuji just kind of smiles. Marie says how it’s tasty and Niina is happy that Marie of all people liked it, since she made better ones. Kazuki looks glad, seeing how Yuuji knew how Marie would act and was doing a nice thing.
- After dinner eventually Niina heads home, and we see she lives just a short ways away. She waves goodbye to Marie, being closer friends now.
Impressions:
I love Marie; she is an awesome character so this episode was pretty good. Even though it stranded from the main focus of Kazuki and Yuuji, it was great I thought. Marie is a neat character I think because of, not only the fact she has a teddy bear assault riffle, but just the way she acts, actins o mature in punished Yuuji and being rather anti social. I thought it was hilarious how she seemed deathly afraid of cats even though for the most part she was a collected character. Her trembling in fear from Niina when she wanted to hug her was also great. Not to mention she has a whole walk in closet full of different guns.
We also saw some more of how Yuuji is really a good guy deep down, and we will likely see a lot of this throughout the series, so that Kazuki isn’t completely repulsed by him, and he redeems himself just enough to give him a chance with her. We saw how basically he protected Marie from the cats by knowing what to do, and he prompted her to try the dumplings so that it would spark a friendship in Niina and Marie.
Another small note, it seems the whole smart Yuuji thing has completely died. As he said he went into class like his normal self and no one even recognized him. He says something how Chihaya explained things for him and Chihaya doesn’t seem to have any problem with Yuuji. In fact it almost sounded like in the preview that she has a thing for him, my guess is its not anything that serious and they are just going to deal with that to show that Kazuki doesn’t necessarily want to loose him.
Marie’s gun might be cool, but it’s overused and eventually it becomes a bother…
I agree its overused and such but I dont think its that much of a bother, but I can defiantly see it becoming less and less appealing. Still, without the gun I rather liek Marie’s character.
is there only 4 episodes of Tonagura? cuz ive been waiting for like 2-3 weeks…..plz reply
There are more, however the fansubbers that are doing the show are a bit slow in their releases. As of now only four episodes have been subbed so that’s all I can go by for now. I believe the fansubers havn’t dropped it or anything, so we just have to wait untill they release more.
