Ok, this is a post basically about what has happened between II and III, as well as some theories/questions that may arise in III. I’m not going to go into detail and say what happened in the previous games because either you already played them and don’t need to know, or you are reading this will no knowledge of the previous games in which I would have to call you stupid.
From reading the in game summaries, basically what happened between II and III is that Shion quit vector, realizing that there may be more to it then one may think. She has seemingly joined up with a group called Scientia who is an Anti-Vector organization. Shion apparently learned some things about Vector or had some suspicions and so she joined with them.
Anyways, the following are some points of interest that I remembered about the last game that may have some importance in this game, including theories about what so and so will do in this game, or mysterious left open ended from the second game.
First is Albedo. Ok, so supposedly he died in the last game but so Virgil was supposed to be dead in I and he turned out to still be alive as the Blue Testament. So Albedo still maybe has some chance of being alive. Maybe his consciousness is in Jr. or Nigredo, or perhaps his interaction with U-DO or whatever; I don’t remember exactly what happened, caused him to be preserved somehow. It’s also another possibility he is the White Testament, as when Virgil died he came back as a Testament, same could be true for Albedo. And being the White one would fit perfectly.
Ok, reading though some character write ups in the game I remembered, maybe they didn’t state it in II, that Nigredo’s (Gaignun) purpose was to eliminate Ruebedo (Jr.) if he came into contact with U-DO or unleashed the Red Dragon or something like that. Basically it was his job to kill him if he went all berserk. Now, we didn’t really see anything touched on too closely about that, but it makes me wonder where exactly his loyalties lie and if they will shift sometime in III. I remember something in two how Nigredo like took control of Albedo’s mind or something or at least I think Nigredo’s hair turned white like Albedo’s. Now, this again makes me wonder a bit. Also bring up that whole thing, the mystery behind how permanent Albedo’s death is, if somehow Nigredo will play a part in that subject. Basically, I’m not sure exactly what will become of him or what he will do but I’m a bit suspicious.
Ok, something that happened in the last game was there was a confrontation between the party and the Testaments, different colored robed people and masked. One of them, the Black Testament, took off his mask in the last episode and Ziggy recognized him, calling him Voyager. He seemed furious and tried to attack him but to no avail. Now what is up with that? Obviously Ziggy seems to know him from somewhere, but not sure how. I have two guesses that I’m not which to lean to. One is that it is his son. His son was murdered and again I go back to the whole Virgil thing, that doesn’t mean he is dead, maybe like Virgil he came back as the Black Testament. The other thing is, well, he was murdered meaning there was someone behind his death. It could be the person who killed his son. That seems a bit more likely as if Ziggy committed suicide because his son died, I don’t see how he would hate his son enough to try and attack the Black Testament when he saw him.
There are four Testaments, Black, Red, Blue, and White. Here are my theories on who they are.
Blue: Well it’s not a theory; it’s a fact that the Blue Testament is Virgil. He was the guy aboard the Woglinde who was killed by KOS MOS early on in the first game because killing him was the most effective way to kill the enemy behind him basically. He wasn’t on the best of terms with Shion because he hated realians and she was all, they have rights too.
White: Albedo, the color makes perfect since, as Albedo had white hair and was always in white, and also the fact that his name meant white or something along those lines, his name reflects something about white. He was killed but my guess is all the Testaments are people brought back from the dead.
Black: Identified by Ziggy as Voyager, my top theory is that he is Ziggy’s Son’s killer. It would explain why Ziggy recognized him and went crazy with rage at seeing his face and he would have to be dead, as the only reason Ziggy is alive is he is a cyborg, a normal person would have died of age.
Red: I really have no idea.
Speaking of the Testaments, another point of interest is Wilhelm. He is the white haired guy and supposedly the Testaments are his subordinates. Now, the testaments as we saw in the last game where extremely powerful, defeating the Omega thing easily if I remember. For them to be Wilhelm’s lackeys makes me kind of very wary of Wilhelm himself. He is the CEO of Vector and all this suspicion from him defiantly makes me feel that Shion was right in quitting Vector and opposing it, as Wilhelm defiantly seems like a bad guy and that would therefore make Vector, at least at its core, an evil organization.
Ok, another thing is Nephilim. Now, they may have explained who she is or what she is, but I most likely forgot, well not most likely, I wouldn’t be asking about her if I did. Anyways, what’s the deal with her? She obviously seems important as the ship named after her that plays the “Song of Nephilim” attracts Gnosis. Well…I don’t really have any theories about this, just putting this here because she is still a bit of a mystery.
Actually it was Dimitri who took control of Nigredo’s mind.
Sorry for the double post, forgot to tell you that you may want to read up on Xenosaga: Pied Piper(there’s a script or something on the web somewhere) about Voyager and Ziggy(sounds like you haven’t).
For now I’ll see if they give the infomation about those two in the game. If it isn’t thoroughly explained then I’ll read up on it, for now I’m trying to to spoil myself.
As for the Nigredo thing, yeah I guess I do remember that. Still it fits in the lines of if Dimitri still has some influence of Nigredo.
The testements are…
Blue: Virgil
Red: Kevin
White: Albedo
Black: Voyager
and there dead, wilhelm revived him, hes like 1000s of years old too (in the database it says he was the CEO of vector when it existed on Earth)
I know who all the Testaments are, I was trying to just write only based on the information given so far in the game. Although in my next post I idenitfy red because enough clues are given by then.
I thought the identity of the Testements were pretty obvious from the previous games, to be honest - particularly if you paid attention to the voices. It was soooo obvious since Episode I who Red was. I figured the after-credit sequence in Episode II, when White first appears, was enough yo make that one obvious as well ^^;
Ho-hum. Anyway, its probably not nice for people to spout out random spoilers in these comments sections. If its something you can find out from the database, I’m sure Xebek will find it himself ^_^
Thx DiGi, It’s not that big of a deal about the Testament thing, like I said I knew who red was but didn’t remember enough of the voices to make a statement of fact since I’m trying to not take into consideration spoilers when writing these.
I havn’t read that many more spoilers so that shouldn’t be that much of a problem or anything, saying I don’t know something when I do.
