Shizuma must return the pendant she received when she was elected Etoile, as well as the one that Kaori had. While in her room, she finds a letter from Kaori.

Summary:
- Shizuma has locked herself up in her room, not coming out or anything so Miyuki seeks her out. When she finally confronts Etoile, saying how she has to do her work as she is still Etoile, Shizuma yells at her how she doesn’t know what she is going through because she has never loved anyone. Miyuki tires to object but can’t tell Shizuma that she loves her. Shizuma then kisses Miyuki deeply. Eventually, Miyuki pushes her away, calling her an idiot and starts crying. Shizuma sees how this had a big impact on her, and didn’t mean it as anything serious.
- Shizuma heads to her greenhouse in the pouring rain. Along the way Amane comes up to her with and umbrella and walks with her. They get to the greenhouse and Shizuma starts saying how when Amane is Etoile, the greenhouse will be hers to take care of. Amane says she has no intention but Shizuma just says the president won’t let her off that easy. Amane asks Shizuma what you get when you become Etoile. Shizuma says how you get something that no words can describe, and we see a shot of her and Kaori back when they were elected, smiling at each other.
- Shizuma goes with Miyuki to Kaori’s old room to get her Etoile pendant, as today is the day to return the pendants since the Etoile election is coming up. Miyuki opens the drawer and gets out the box that contains Kaori’s pendant. She sees the corner of some paper and opens the box, showing Shizuma there is a letter inside, much to her surprise. Shizuma reads the letter, as it is from Kaori. It basically says how she won’t be able to experience things, but Shizuma will be. It says by her side has always been someone silently supporting her, and the world around her is different, something she won’t be able to experience. She says that she is a stronger person, and she wants her to free herself and become the person she loved, strong willed, beautiful person. To forget about her. Miyuki starts crying and Shizuma says how she is such a crybaby. She remembers the part in the letter about someone always being there for her. She says this to Miyuki and says she wants to stay by her side forever and support her forever.
- At the small ceremony for retuning the pendant, Shizuma talks with Amane who is there. She says how the thing you get for being Etoile you have to find it for yourself, and she cant’ tell her, but you can’t find it with just one person. The two of them look over to Hikari in the choir and Amane tries to say something back but Shizuma heads off. She places the box with her pendent and Kaori’s at the altar in the church, saying goodbye to Kaori as she does this.
Summary:
The biggest thin in this episode seemed, to me, to be the relationship advance between Shizuma and Miyuki. The whole incident with them in the room together in the beginning and the kiss between them was huge. Although for Shizuma it didn’t really mean anything, Miyuki had feelings for her and because the kiss wasn’t really one of love is why she cried. I think Shizuma saw this, which is why she apologized. Later after reading the letter basically Kari herself said how Miyuki has always been at her side. The letter basically told Shizuma to get over Kaori, and since it was from her I think she kind of did. The returning the necklaces symbolized that.
However, I’m really confused as to where the relationship between Miyuki and Shizuma go. I was stunned at Shizuma’s words to Miyuki, how she said she wanted to always be together with her and be by her side. The whole time I was screaming to myself, what about Nagisa? It really seemed in that event between Miyuki and Shizuma that they kind of said how they will always be together, but I got the impression it was in kind of a romantic way. Either it will go that way or it will be just a friends-only thing and Shizuma will still go with Nagisa. If Shizuma didn’t’ go with Nagisa then her only real option would be Tamao, but Nagisa hasn’t’ shown any feelings for her that way so I don’t see it going that way. Then again, Nagisa still has a more years at the school without Shizuma so them being together wouldn’t fit as well as her and Tamao.
It defiantly seemed to me that Amane will run for Etoile, no question about it. I mean, I’m sure we will see a bit of doubt in her running for Etoile but her talk with Shizuma really pushed her to run for Etoile. Their conversation in the greenhouse and the church basically hinted at what you get for becoming Etoile is a feeling of being together forever with the person you are running with. My guess is that Amane will run for Etoile because of Hikari. The two of them will run together and Amane will do it because of that feeling that Shizuma talked about. We saw in the preview for next episode of the Spica President talking with Hikari so Amane may run for Hikari and be pushed over the edge because of something Hikari does, because of something Spica president says. In the end basically Amane I think will run for Etoile because/for Hikari.
The end of this episode basically set the tone for battle amongst the schools for the election of Etoile. There aren’t really any choices from Miatre that would create too much drama. The most likely obvious choice would be Tamao and Nagisa, although again Nagisa hasn’t shown the feelings for Tamao that say Amane and Hikari have so I’m not sure. As stated, Amane and Hikari will likely be another pair, in Spica however there is the conflict between that pair and the other pair from the student council. In the end I think that Amane will win but at least there will be some convict there. As for Le Rim, I don’t really think we will see any serious competition from them. We may see like the two girls who look like twins run but they have no chance in winning.
As for the winners themselves, I almost have to go with Amane and Hikari over Nagisa and Tamao (if that’s the pair). Mainly because Etoile, as Shizuma kind of said in this episode, is really about the connection between the two people. Nagisa and Tamao don’t have the kind of connection that Hikari and Amane do, and theirs is much more like the kind that basically Shizuma and Kaori had. Even though Nagisa is the main character, right now I’m leaning to the others unless Tamao says something to Nagisa and gets her feelings across and the two of them deal with each other. Either way, there is likely to be a lot of drama in the love whatever shape involving Tamao, Nagisa, Shizuma, and Miyuki. It all really depends on what exactly Miyuki and Shizuma meant in their scene together about being with each other and if Tamao makes her feelings clear.
