It’s Yuuji’s first day at Kazuki’s school and because Kazuki said that his normal self will get all the girls to hate him, Yuuji puts up a smart/handsome guy farce which impresses al the girls much to Kazuki’s surprise.

Summary:

We start off seeing a dream of Kazuki’s. She is on the balcony with fireflies everywhere and Yuji is standing before her, looking all dignified and not his normal sloppy self. He speaks in a courageous kind of voice and says how he is sorry for the way he has acted in the past. Kazuki just stars out him dreamily saying its ok. The two of them lean in for a kiss and Kazuki wakes up. Kazuki gets ready for school, shaking her head saying that was just a dream, there’s no way Yuuji would be like that. She goes down for breakfast and is greeted by Yuuji and Marie who are there. Yuuji just says good morning and she smacks him with a newspaper. He asks what that was for and she just says she doesn’t need a reason. Kazuki points to a camera Yuuji has and asks what that is for. He says it’s for taking pictures of his first day of school and of all the pretty girls there. Kazuki takes it away from them and they yell at each other, Kazuki saying how eh can’t do that. After Yuuji falls on her and she hit him so more the two of them get ready to go. Kazuki just looks at him and sighs. She pulls his ear, getting him to stand up straight. She says how he looks terrible for first day of school, his hair isn’t’ combed, he has a sloppy face, and his shirt is loose. Yuuji just says that girls like wild men and they always gloat over him from afar. Kazuki just says they are far away to get away from him. Kazuki’s sister says however that Yuuji may be more popular if he acted more proper. Kazuki just says there is no way Yuuji could be like that but Yuuji straitens up and has a look on his face making him look handsome and Kazuki is shocked, he looks and sounds just like he did in her dream. Yuuji changes back and Kazuki says how he should change back. Yuuji just says putting on that face is tiresome. They all walk to school, along the way Yuuji being the center of attention. Marie says as long as he keeps his mouth shut. Yuuji says in his courageous like voice not to worry, he will stay this way because he will be more popular. Kazuki just stars at him and when Yuuji looks at her she looks away, thinking to herself why she is blushing, it’s still just Yuuji. All of a sudden some young girl Marie’s age comes running and knocks into Marie, knocking them both down. Kazuki asks if she is ok and she just sits there and Kazuki tells Yuuji to help her up but he is just starting at her and Kazuki sees her panties are showing so she hits him in the face. The girl gets up saying she is fine and runs off. They all arrive at school and Marie goes off to her elementary school and Yuuji heads off to report in to the staff office, putting on his handsome face saying he will be fine.

We see Marie in her class, introducing herself. The blonde haired girl from before that bumped into her is in her class and energetically shouts welcome and nice to meet you again. Marie gets a seat next to her and the girl just stares at her. Marie tries to pull her desk away but she is on the end and can only go so far and the other girl just moves closer as she moves away. Meanwhile Yuuji is being introduced to his class. The student president introduces himself to Yuuji, fairly weirdly and starts saying how they should have a welcome party and that Yuuji’s (fake) handsome face can get a lot of girls to come. He is hit from behind by a girl who introduces herself as Seri the vice president. After classes we see Kazuki worrying to herself about how Yuuji is doing, if he has done anything perverted or what not, saying how she doesn’t have much confidence in him. Chihaya comes up to her when she is deep in thought and asks her to introduce her childhood friend to her, she promised. Kazuki tries to get out of it, telling her to look over there but Chihaya doesn’t fall for it. She asks if there is a reason she is running away and Kazuki, nervously, says its nothing, he is a totally average guy. She says from the outside he doesn’t look too weird and Kazuki freaks out asking when she saw him. She said she heard about a new transfer student in Seri’s class and assumed it was her childhood friend. She freaks out, seeing as how Seri is fairly hot and she fears he has done something perverted. Chihaya just says he looked normal, calm and popular with the girls. Kazuki looks shocked and Chihaya shows her his classroom where all the girls are fawning over him asking him questions. Kazuki is shocked he is acting that way and Chihaya tells her to introduce her but Kazuki apologizes and says tomorrow.

Kazuki heads off home and Chihaya looks in one last time, noting Yuuji’s eye twitch from keeping up his farce and Chihaya looks as if he suspects something. Kazuki goes to the roof, talking to herself asking how he could act that way in front of everyone else and not her and so on saying he should have acted that way from the beginning. Kazuki gets home and goes up to her room, mad. She says to herself how Yuuji is probably with all his female friends. Just then Kazuki’s window slides open and Yuuji comes in as she is undressing from her uniform, asking where she was, he was going to walk home with her. Kazuki covers up and punches Yuuji. Yuuji asks, as his normal self, why she didn’t’ wait for him. She just says why should he and he says he wanted to walk home with her because it’s tiring looking all smart. She says she never said he can do perverted thins in front of her and he ask if she likes the smart face and she just punches him saying it makes her sick. He says fine he won’t do it anymore and Kazuki seems surprised, saying how if he does that he wont be popular at school. He says it doesn’t matter if it can mean still being friends with her. At dinner, Kazuki tells Yuuji how she wants him to come to her class tomorrow. Yuuji starts thinking of some fantasy where Kazuki gets all romantic and the two of them get together in the lone classroom in the evening but she says she just wants to introduce him to her friend. She tells him he doesn’t have to look smart and such, just not to do anything perverted. She tells Marie if he does’ anything she can take disciplinary measures. After school the next day, Yuuji meets with Chihaya and still has his smart guy face on. She acts energetic saying it’s nice to meet him, and how Kazuki talks about him a lot. Kazuki watching from the doorway kind of says to herself not to tell him too much. They talk a bit more and Chihaya just stares at him suspiciously. Yuuji looks kind of confused and Chihaya grabs him around the neck asking when he is going to start acting like the real him. Eventually from the feeling of having his head rubbed against Chihaya breast, he looks like normal and she says so this is the real him. Kazuki comes in asking how she knew that he was putting on an act and she just said it was obvious. They sit down and Chihaya says how it’s better for him just to be himself. Yuuji grabs her hands enthusiastically saying how that’s the first time anyone’s ever talked to him like that, and thanks him. Chihaya looses her balance and starts to fall but Yuuji catches her, holding onto her. Marie watching from a distance thinks this is some perverted behavior so gets ready to shoot when Kazuki jumps in the way saying its not. Kazuki and Chihaya fall over, and both of their panties are showing. This pushes Yuuji over the edge and he jumps them so Marie shoots him. Marie introduces herself to Chihaya. Kazuki says how that s Yuuji’s’ real self, a pervert. Chihaya says its nothing to worry about, all guys are like that. She kind of teases him by lifting her skirt up a bit and Yuuji ties to sneak a peak but Marie keeps hosting him. They go through this cycle several times, Chihaya having fun with him seeing as every time she teases him like that it leads to him being shot by Marie.

Impressions:

This show seems to continue to have the same comedy focus and such with Yuuji being a pervert and Kazuki having feelings for him but not wanting to admit it because she hates his behavior. Despite that I still find myself thoroughly enjoying this series. Yeah there is a lot of fanservice and so on but fanservice doesn’t necessarily = bad, they way they’ve done it seems fine and that’s what part of the comedy comes from. Sure it’s not super serious but it’s not supposed to be. Anyways, enough overall genre defending ranting. This episode was great; I loved how Yuuji just started twitching trying to hold back his perverted self. Although this leaves the question of how much of this he is going to continue after Chihaya told him that he is fine the way he is. We also again showed some of Kazuki showing feelings for Yuuji still and how their relationship may have some chance such as Yuuji saying how he didn’t car bout the other girls and wanted to walk home with Kazuki, and saying how he would drop the act at schools o he could keep Kazuki as a friend. Yuuji just said all this freely and carelessly and dint’ really make a deal out of it, so far doesn’t seem to be hiding his feelings that much but we saw Kazuki react to tem, maybe starting to warm up a bit more and we may see them having a chance.

Next episode seems to be a Marie centered one, her and that other girl from her class who is basically the complete opposite of her. This seems like the kind of show that could go off in directions like that, shifting the focus from Kazuki and Yuuji but so far there haven’t been the introduction of that many character, or any depth to the characters thieve introduced to go off on side stories like that. I have a feeling that Seri from Yuuji’s class may spark some kind of whole jealously thing in Kazuki. Kazuki will get jealous even though she doesn’t want to admit she is seeing the two of them act friendly or whatever. Although this depends on how Yuuji acts for the rest of his school life I, if he will keep of the farce he showed in this episode, just tone it down, or be extremely perverted.
