Ok, yesterday I got my shipment of all the existing .hack manga and light novels. I don’t remember what exactly my spark was to go all .hack crazy and order all the novels and such, but I did. Now, most of the novels are in Japanese, well in fact everything that I just received is in Japanese but it’s mostly for collection purposes anyways. I got one manga volume and seven light novels. The first volume of .hack//G.U. + and for light novels I got two volumes of .hack//A.I. Buster, four of .hack//Another Birth, one volume of .hack//Zero. I also updated my Manga/Novel List with the recent arrival.

Out of curiosity, I stumbled upon a .hack//-type book. Was it the .hack//AI Buster that’s not a graphic novel? I was nearly on the edge to buy it (out of impulse purchase) but the man told me that it’s not a graphic novel, but just text only.
AI Buster’s a normal novel, based on the same setting but set earlier in the series, IIRC. There are a bunch of .hack novels, on top of the mangas, anime, and games.
A.I. Buster, Another Story, and Zero are all Light Novels. They are text only excpet for a few pages with illustrations. Like, maybe eight full page illustrations per book. All the stuff I got in this haul are Light Novels except for G.U. + which is manga.
A.I. Buster takes place before Sign, Another Story is a novelization of the four games told from BlackRose’s point of view, and Zero takes place between the games and Udeden (Dusk) and deals with an A.I. version of Sora after his data drain.
Just to ask. Where did you order all these books from. I love .hack// and getting those is would be a very good thing for my colection, like you said ^_^
