The final level. Omega has awakened and Vincent faces off against him, regaining control of Chaos as well as seeing the truth behind what happened in Vincent’s past regarding his father and Lucrecia.

Summary:

• Vincent is standing there alone when Yuffie runs up to him saying they did it. All of a sudden the pool of energy erupts outward. We see lifestream energy pouring out of Midgar and the reactors, rising up together into one stream that soars to the sky. It gathers and streams hit ht reactors gathering up more energy. The energy forms together, solidifying into a huge creature. We see inside the beasts eye Vincent floating around in energy. He turns into Chaos and flies out, facing towards the huge beast. He flies towards it but is repelled by a force field. So he hovers before it.
• We see Shelke and she say how Omega has awoken, and Chaos has been drawn out of the shadows as a counter balance. She says the souls inside Omega should act as a virtual network. Shelke says Vincent should be successful she not only got Lucrecia’s thoughts, but goals and feelings as well. We see a glowing image of Shelke fly out and enter Omega. This virtual Shelke is inside omega but gets caught but strands of darkness. There is a bright light and Shelke sees someone. She reaches forward and the shadows disappear and she is freed. Shelke emerges from omega holding the Protomateria. She flies out and though Vincent, giving him the Protomateria. Vincent calms down as he is in control and he sees an image of Lucrecia being the one handing him the Protomateria. The black strands wrap around her and pull her away. Vincent glows in Power and hovers before Omega.
• We see a flashback to when Vincent was a Turk inside the test tube. Lucrecia is saying ho this isn’t enough, she has to hurry or his tissue will continue to decay. Hojo is saying how this is an experiment and she yells its not. However she stops and questions Experiment. Words flash by in her thoughts, about saving, she found it, proof…and then Never again. We then see Vincent’s body lying on the floor before Hojo, holding a gun. Hojo is laughing manically and Lucrecia asks what he has done. Lucrecia says how he had his eyes, and she didn’t want to remember. She pushed him away, but now she realizes….we see her crying on the floor, saying not again. She is before Vincent in the test tube and says to him even though he is asleep how his eyes are exactly like his fathers. She says how she did it. Born from the lifestream, however Chaos, Born was…away from her. We see Vincent in the test tube in Chaos form, trying to break out. Lucrecia yells for him to stop and there is a glow before her and Vincent stops. She sees the Protomateria on the ground. She works frantically with something but doesn’t seem to be able to get it to work. She falls on her knees before Vincent in his normal body, asking herself what she is doing.
• We see from the eyes of Vincent in the tube, Lucrecia yelling at Hojo for him to give her her son back he just asks how her experiment is going and she yells she doesn’t know, she doesn’t care. She says she wants to see him just once. We then see her sitting on the floor saying she is sorry, she cant’ take it anymore. Before she goes, we see words flash by, Jenova cells, store as data, must leave, thought, I loved, record, memory copy, for him, it was wrong, wait, disperse, so sorry, apply, but I, for, fragment, survive, hope, who?
• We then see a flashback of Shelke standing before Nero. She asks who she is and Nero says Dr. Lucrecia Crescent. Shelke says so she is to enter the network and collect the data files, the fragments she left within the network. He says correct, and then she is to use that information to find the Protomateria. We then hear Shelke’s voice saying that information is unnecessary. Connect with her Vincent, Connect with her heart.
• We see Vincent in the crystal cave. Lucrecia appears before him and he doesn’t pay any attention. She just says hello Vincent, hmm something’s wrong… She says that this is me, but only in a sense. It is merely a reflection created in data. The real her crumbled away long ago. She asks him f he remembers their place, under that tree.
• We see Vincent still sitting in same position looking depressed, but the two of them in the field under the tree. She says how the warm breeze on hr skin; she knows it no longer exists. Things fade with time, but there are some things they cannot let disappear. She says she finally realized her true feelings, even if he never understands them. She says not that she minds, but this isn’t’ how it’s supposed to be, she made too many mistakes and she hurt him so so much. She apologizes to him, but says she is so happy he survived.
• Vincent kind of snaps out of hit and yells Lucrecia. He finds himself still hovering in front of Omega. He dives down and lands on the ground, placing Shelke against a wall. Shelke says he is late. Vincent says sorry, and Shelke says she doesn’t mind though. We see a ghost image of Lucrecia over Shelke. Vincent says she was always like that, only believing what she wanted to. Shelke tells him he should just try telling her that himself. He says maybe he will, but before that he has a story to end. He materializes a gun and flies up to Omega.
• Vincent fights his way in Chaos form up to Omega. There is a blast of energy that hits a reactor and we see Cloud come down on it with his sword. He phones to Vincent sorry for the wait. We see Tifa and Barret at the site too fighting and they say he’s all yours Vincent. Reeve, Yuffie, and Shelke are together and they blew something up cheering. Shelke asks her self when she started caring so much about what happened. She looks up to Vincent and says the rest is up to you. Everyone from the game, except Red XIII all look up and cheer Vincent on. Vincent flies up, saying he has no choice, its time to save the world. He starts glowing and flies after Omega, piercing his force field and getting up to him.
• Vincent fights his way through Omega and emerges out near his head. He makes his way up to his head where there is some core like thing. He destroys the cocoon thing and Weiss appears. The two of them seem evenly matched and Weiss eventually jumps back and some Omega form appears behind him. It inserts some probe things into him and Weiss ascends up to the device and Vincent fights it and defeats it.
• After defeating Omega Weiss Omega starts to glow and fly upwards. Reeve sees this and says Omega is ascending, but that can only mean….Vincent flies up past it and starts down at it as it is flying up. He powers up and flies directly at it, flying past its energy screaming as it hits him. They collide and there is a huge explosion of power. When the light settles we see everyone on the ground safe, and the sky clears and they all see the starry sky. There is a huge gathering of stars and a sphere of light starts to gather and form the lifestream. The lifestream energy disperses and Yuffie looking up says Vincent, in sad voice. We see blue energy floating all around, a single grouping of red energy slowing falling to the ground. We see on a broken pipe in the ruins, Vincent’s Keychain that is on the end of his gun.
• After the credits we hear Shelke’s voice saying Vincent, it’s been almost a week since that day, the lifestream has return to the planet. She has started to fill the 10 year hole in her life. Now that she realizes she isn’t’ alone she maybe stronger. We see Tifa and Yuffie in the bar, Yuffie asking where Cloud is. Shelke just looks up to the sky and asks if he remembers the last words they exchanged, their promise, their promise to Lucrecia. She tells him to tell her how he feels. She says she knows that he will probably never see this but he hast o believe. We see Shelke sitting outside with Red XII looking up saying she must never give up hope.
• We hear Vincent talking and he says everything is alright now, Omega and Chaos have returned to the planet. Vincent is in the cave looking at her. Vincent thanks her, saying thank you, she is the reason he survived. We see in her crystal Lucrecia shedding a tear. Vincent emerges from the cave and sees Shelke in casual cloths standing there before the waterfalls. She tells him everyone is waiting. She says she doesn’t know why they made her come up here and get him. Not that she minds though.

Impressions:

The end. I wont’ talk too much about overall things; I will make an Overall Impressions post. This level was awesome though. Although gameplay wise it wasn’t that much of a challenge, especially with the Death Penalty gun and Chaos form the final boss fight and proceeding up to him was rather easy. That aside storyline wise this level and the concluding aspects it had were great. There were a lot of FMVs too and we saw a lot of Vincent in his Chaos form.

I have to tell you that I almost freaked out when I thought Vincent had died. Normally I’m not too completely against the main character dieing or anything because it has he whole sacrificing thing but I would have gone ballistic. Although the scene with his whole “maybe death” was animated gorgeously with the FF VII gang all around, the blue lifestream floating to the ground and the starry sky above. It was a really cool scene.

I was also right about Shelke having a part in the final battle. She did her whole data thingy and gave Vincent the Protomateria so without her he wouldn’t have been able to control Chaos or anything. Shelke really turned into a great character. In the ending sequence I thought it was awesome how she was wearing casual clothes and all throughout near the end she was the one, because of Lucrecia’s data, that got Vincent through all this. Her being the one to get Vincent was cool, and who knows, MAYBE there could be something between them :D Ok, most likely not and I really don’t think that but technically Shelke is 19 and all…
