Vincent faces off against Nero and learns the truth about who Weiss is and what he is trying to accomplish.

Summary:

• Vincent is with Yuffie somewhere and Shelke is in some tube. Vincent asks if she will be alright and she says he will, so Vincent pushes a button and the container Shelke is in fills with energy. Yuffie then says to Vincent the plan, Vincent will go after Nero and Weiss and while he is doing that she will sneak in the reactor and shut them down. Yuffie heads off and we see in the room a monitor that says Discoverer: Grimoire Valentine
• We see a flashback of Vincent as a Turk; he is looking around Lucrecia’s lab for her when he sees on a monitor a file on his father. Just then Lucrecia comes in and Vincent asks her about this. She sys it’s none of his business but he says it is, and asks how she couldn’t tell him she worked with his father. She just yells for him to stop it. She starts crying saying it was all her fault, she didn’t mean for his father to die. She runs off leaving Vincent there. We hear him say to himself how he never blamed her, he just wanted to see her smile but after that day, the light left her heart. We see her then approach Hojo, Hojo saying how she came to her senses and chose him; they hold each other, leaving Vincent by himself.
• Back in the present Shelke asks Vincent from the tube why he is fighting this battle. He says to fight Omega and stop this madness, at least that’s what he tells himself but he isn’t sure the reason. Shelke says how she isn’t sure either.
• Vincent and Yuffie make it to a large room with glowing stuff all around. They see a throne with an energy pool all around it, with Weiss sitting there looking dead. Yuffie asks if he is dead and Nero shows up behind him saying not for long, a new life breeds inside him just as one does in Vincent. He says soon he will awaken; it’s been so long since he was given the power of rebirth. Vincent asks, given? By who? All of a sudden the whole place starts to shake and a bright light glows. Yuffie asks Omega? Seeing the glow and they both point their weapons at Weiss and the glowing contraption behind him. Nero yells to stay away from his brother and rushes forward, enveloping Yuffie and Vincent in darkness. We see Yuffie there struggling. Some dark things start flying towards her and Yuffie screams in pain, but Vincent takes her out of the darkness. She asks what that was. Nero says it is Oblivion perhaps, his darkness…it can absorb as well as extract almost anything. Vincent tells Yuffie to stay there and walks up to Nero. He says oh yes, you are immune to the darkness. They are enveloped in darkness and Nero says no one will take his brother away again. Vincent fights Nero who has turned into a huge spider like mecha thing and has teleported the two of them to some lone plane. Vincent defeats him after he turns back from the spider thing. The two of them reappear in the place they were with Yuffie and Nero slumbers almost dead and glowing, saying Weiss…
• Vincent runs after Nero who slumbers up to Weiss saying its time. Weiss is glowing and stand sup, laughing manically. Nero walks up to him saying how he will never leave him and Weiss jams his hand through his chest, killing him. He says he is finished with him and tosses his body to the side. Weiss walks towards Vincent and he shoots at him but it does nothing. Weiss says it’s useless, his body is one with Omega just as Vincent’s is with Chaos. The difference being Chaos is nothing more then a pawn. Weiss goes on how there is nothing that can destroy him. Weiss says Vincent’s name, and that they meet again. Vincent is confused and asks what? Weiss says three years ago while he was still running about looking for Sephiroth, he took it upon himself to distribute his data, his mind, knowledge, and being accords the world wide network. Even though his body had died he was around and when the scattered data collected he was reborn, a neo-Reunion you could say. Weiss then talks in Hojo’s voice laughing saying that’s right boy, it is I, Hojo.
• Hojo’s image appears next tow Weiss. Hojo says that he couldn’t believe it when he read that woman’s thesis, that some fabled beast from legend had anything to do with Vincent’s survival. However says three years ago when he transformed into Chaos before his eyes he was shocked. He says how if Chaos existed then Omega must. He says that however not just anyone could be a host. He says the reason Vincent was a perfect host for chaos was because his experiments gave him a nearly indestructible body. Thanks to him he is standing here today. He continues that he prepared to perfect his body for Omega by injecting himself with Jenova cells. However, it didn’t’ go as planned. So as a safety measure so the cells didn’t control his mind no soul he transported himself though the world network. Hojo said he still needed a body, when he remembered Deepground. He even found a willing assistant in Nero to help carry out his rebirth. With a new body he began his experiment. If the Chaos within Vincent was born of a tainted Lifestream, then Omega would be born of a pure one. So he slaughtered the pure ones, thus awakening Omega within him. Vincent says he has heard enough, and shoots him but the image of Hojo disappears and Weiss blocks all Vincent’s bullets and the two of them fight, Weiss using gunblades of his own. Weiss defeats him and in Hojo’s voice still he says how he is getting old. He tells him to sit there; he wants him to see this. The energy starts flowing into him but Vincent says this isn’t’ over. They fight again but Vincent isn’t able to harm Weiss.
• Vincent is defeated and tries turning into Chaos but isn’t able to. HE stands up, still glowing and stares at Weiss and the image of Hojo. Another image of Lucrecia appears next to him, telling him he can’t defeat this enemy by trying to overpower him. She tells him to take control, don’t let Chaos control him, take control of Chaos. Weiss/Hojo says it won’t help him and shots an energy blast at him. Vincent stops it with his hands. Weiss says interesting, using Chaos’s power while in his human form. Weiss rushes forward and attacks Vincent but he easily dodges his attacks. Weiss says even with the power of Chaos he can’t beat him, Omega. Vincent says he’s heard enough, it’s time to end this. They fight again and Vincent defeats him.
• Weiss body is thrown against the wall and Hojo’s image appears asking why this is happening, why Omega’s power is fading. Everything is surrounding in darkness and Nero appears barely alive. Hojo starts freaking out saying how he can’t inhabit Omega, why does he think he had to have a pure source, if a filthy beast like him inhabited it, it would be horrible. Nero just tells him to shut up; he is speaking with his brother. He says Weiss’s name and Weiss kind of raises his head saying Nero. Nero says let us become one, let us come together. Nero grabs Weiss and turns into darkness, inhabiting the body. Weiss stands up and slumbers forward, and we hear Hojo’s voice yelling no. Weiss steps forward into the lifestream energy.

Impressions:

Omg, Weiss is Hojo? Wow, I didn’t see that coming even though I should have. I had guessed earlier that Hojo would still e around but they never showed his so I guess it would have been a bit odd if he just showed out of no where.

Aside from that, this level was pretty big storyline wise. We finally get the confrontation with Weiss, although not over, still we got it and we learned the whole Hojo Weiss thing. Also a big thing is that Shelke in her tube seems to be able to do things like make the image of Lucrecia and kind of influence him into being able to do things. Only question is if she will have a bigger part or not, or just stay in the background and communicate with him allowing him to sue his powers.
