Saito, Louise, Tabitha, and Kirche, accompanied by the secretary, go out on a small journey to try and track down Fouquet as they have a lead to where she may be hiding in the woods.

Summary:
We start off seeing Louise in the classroom with Saito before class starts. Kirche is fawning over him and feeing him much to Louise’s enragement. They talk about the whole incident that just occurred with Fouquet appearing and Kirche says how Henrietta may be held responsible as it’s because of her that security was lacking around the treasure room. One of the teachers comes into the classroom and calls for Louise and Tabitha; he says the principal wants to see them. Louise, Saito, and Tabitha go to the principals, along with Kirche because she thinks it may be interesting. Osman, the principal, brings them there because they were the ones who saw Fouquet when she attacked. H turns it over to the secretary and she says how there are reports from town about a mysterious person going in and out of the woods and they suspect its Fouquet. She said she made a concept sketch from their descriptions and she shows it to them, and they identify it as Fouquet. The principal says they need to send some people over to the woods to try and capture her but when one of the professors says they should inform the royal court and have them deal with it, the principal says they would act too slowly and asks for volunteers amongst the teachers. No one volunteers except for Louise. Because Louise does, Kirche does too in contest and Tabitha says she will go too because she is worried about those two. The principal says that’s great, since Tabitha has already been basically given a rank as a knight because of how good she is and Kirche is good with fire magic and comes from a strong lineage, and Louise…..has……and then the principal says she has a great swordsman familiar, much to Louise’s irritation. The professor says that’s right, he is the legendary Gund….and stops himself. The secretary volunteers to be their guide and the principal thanks her. They all head out in a carriage for the small cabin/shack Fouquet was seen at. Saito asks why a noble would be a thief but Fouquet says just because someone can use magic doesn’t mean they are a noble, a mage can be stripped of their nobility and made a commoner, even herself has been stripped of her nobility but Osman doesn’t care and hired her. Kirche moves over close to Saito saying he forgot the sword she got for him. He says he already has one, the one Louise gave him but Kirche seduces him and Louise gets pissed telling him to just take it so he does. They arrive at the cabin and Saito goes up and sees no one is there and Tabitha uses magic and finds there are no traps. Saito, Kirche, and Tabitha head in, Louise says he will keep guard outside and the secretary says she will patrol the woods. The three in the cabin look around and Tabitha finds the staff of destruction. They gasp, and identify the case as the one that was stolen.
All of a sudden there is a big shaking and the roof of the shack is ripped off, revealing the golem towering over them. Tabitha and Kirche both try attacking it with magic but to no avail. Louise appears behind the golem and says that she will fight. Saito tells her to run but she says she wont, she is a noble and that doesn’t mean she can use magic that means she wont’ run away from her enemies. She tries to attack the golem and makes small explosions but it really doesn’t do anything. The golem is about to smash her and Saito runs forward, pushing her out of the way. Louise yells at him to not get in her way and Saito slaps her, saying it doesn’t mater if she is a noble if she is dead. Louise starts to cry saying how everyone makes fun of her and if she runs away now they will keep doing so. Tabitha and Kirche arrive where they are on Slyph and tell them to get on. Louise gets on but Saito says for them to go and he stays behind and tries to fight the golem. He pulls out Kirche’s sword but it breaks on the golem. The other sword tells him to pull him out and he does so and the glyph glows. He attacks the golem and manages to do really well against it, cutting off its legs and arms but they just grow back. Louise says that Saito won’t win like this and she grabs the staff of destruction and tells Tabitha to let her down. She jumps and Tabitha uses her magic to lower her safely. Louise pulls out the staff and it is some tube. Saito sees this and is confused and stunned. Louise tries to use it like a magic staff but Saito runs forward to her. He takes it from her saying it’s not a magic staff. His glyph glows and he unfolds it and brings the pieces out and it is a rocket launcher. He yells for Louise to get down and fires it at the golem, destroying it. Kirche and Tabitha land, Kirche hugging Saito as he drops the rocket launcher. Tabitha asks where Fouquet is, if the golem was here. The secretary shows up and picks up the rocket launcher and Louise asks where she was. The secretary says it lives up to the name of staff of destruction as it destroyed her golem. Everyone is surprised and the secretary takes off her glasses and lets her hair down, revealing herself as Fouquet. She points the rocket launcher at everyone and tells them not to move. She says she is glad she got Saito to come since she stole it but couldn’t’ figure out how to sue it, but figured Saito would know because he is the legendary Gundolf. She says goodbye and fires the rocket launcher at them but nothing happens, as a rocket launcher only has one blast. Saito takes his sword and uses the hilt to knock out Fouquet.
Everyone arrives back at the academy and the principal thanks them, saying Fouquet has been taken into custody. Because of how well they did, the three of them will get some reward from the royal court and they are guests of honor at some banquet ball they are throwing. Louise asks what about Saito and the principal says since he isn’t a noble he can’t receive any reward. Saito says that’s ok, but he has one thing to ask. Everyone leaves and Saito talks to Osman and the one professor alone. He says he isn’t from this world, that the staff of destruction is a weapon from his world and he asks how it got here. Osman says that long ago he was faced with a monster and was about to get killed when he was saved by a blast. It came from a man carrying one of these staffs of destruction. He was wearing clothes he had never seen before and we see in the flashback that it is a camouflage army uniform. He says he was saved by him but the man was injured and collapses. He did everything he could but the man died. He had two staffs of destruction, the one he used was buried with him and the unused one he presented to the court and it was kept in the treasure room. Saito curses, saying he thought he found a lead back. That night at the ball Saito is just standing on the balcony as the fancy celebration goes on around him. Suddenly they announce Louise’s arrival, calling her by her full name and such as Louise arrives, in a fancy dress with her hair different looking much more beautiful then normal. Everyone kind of gasps and Saito himself is stunned. Guys ask her to dance with them but she walks past them to Saito. The dance starts and Louise asks if he wants to dance with her, but just this night. They dance and Louise says she believes him about coming from a different world and asks if he wants to go back. He says he does and Louise looks sad, but thanks him for saving her. He says it was nothing, he is her familiar. She smiles and they continue to dance.
Impressions:
Wow, there was a lot of progression in this episode, more then I thought there would be. Not necessarily referring to the whole Fouquet thing, although it’s a tad surprising she is gone so soon it makes me wonder what the final plot conflict will be, perhaps just Saito wanting to leave. The main progress seemed to be between Saito and Louise. Since Louise now knows Saito is from another world, I can’t get over the look on her face when she asked him if he wanted to return and he said he does. She seemed devastated that he may one day leave and not necessarily all from the point of view of it leaving her without a familiar. I thought the whole dance scene in the end was amazing, how Louise looked and just the time that they spent together was a rather nice change from some of the other pace that the story had previously. There was also a small part where Saito was fighting for Louise, saying how he was his familiar and accepting it but with pride, not like it was a bad thing which kind of stunned Louise.
It’s hard to say exactly where the story will go from here, I don’t really think Fouquet will come back or anything because half of the thing was the apparent mystery and her main weapon or means of fighting is destroyed. My guess is that a conflict near the end will be Saito wanting to leave. I’m dead sure that he won’t leave or anything, my guess is something will turn up like even though they try they can’t find a way or what seems more likely and more story like is they find a way to go home but Saito realizes that his is his home now, and stays with Louise. There does seem to be more of a connection then we previously saw, as to only that one magazine that is from his world, but now he finds out there used to be a guy from his world here as well for some unknown reason. There is also the whole deal with who Saito is regarding the Gundolf thing. Although that is most certainly referring to his familiar powers, as the people who know about it were the ones who looked up his rune symbol, they will are defiantly likely to expand on that. Although that may only be in the last two episodes the rest I think we will see more fairly well executed more or less filler episodes, maybe focusing a bit more on some minor characters and throughout also the relationship between Louise and Saito that leads to him maybe staying if he can find a way back.
