Haseo continues through the Painful Forest and encounters a strange being asking about her daughter; all the while Tabby is trying to figure out what she can do to help Haseo.
Summary:
We start off seeing Haseo fight against some monster. He doesn’t seem to be wining against it, but he isn’t completely loosing either. We then go to Tabby talking with Phyllo. She says how Haseo is working hard but she can’t do anything, she doesn’t even know what’s going on right now. Phyllo says she could always ask him but Tabby says that you can’t send mail to someone in the forest unless you are there also. She says how she wishes she could go there to see him. We see Haseo still fighting the same monster, seemingly having trouble with it. Haseo runs away to the nearest teleporter and goes to the next level of the forest. He says that he doesn’t have time for small fry, as the forest is a timed event. Haseo runs into another monster and tries to defeat it but it hit solidly by an attack and gets killed. Saburou is off somewhere and says to herself how their movements are predictable but if you get hit by an attack you are done for. She gets a call from Pai asking if she is with Haseo Saburou says she can’t follow his movements so she is quitting. Pai just tells her to follow him and cuts communication. Meanwhile we see Taihaku somewhere in the forest. He sees a sword in a huge rock and pulls it out. He looks at it and it starts to glow and engulfs him in light. We then see Phyllo and tabby still talking. Phyllo asks if she is still here and she says she is, she is reading a book. Tabby then asks Phyllo what he does since he sits here all day, if he just stares at the monitor and he says he doesn’t, he sometimes reads a book or plays with his dog or cat. He says how his dog is old, just like him. Tabby asks more and we find out he doesn’t have a wife or really any family. Tabby says she will go look at the BBS for information.
We see Taihaku in a strange plane. There is a big red body floating half way upside down with a giant ring around it. It asks him in a large voice if his daughter is well. Taihaku says he doesn’t know his daughter but wishes for her well being. The thing says that it will allow him to keep that sword. Taihaku is then teleported outside, back outside the forest where people are hanging out but still technically in the same area. He holds up the sword and just looks at it, as people around him gasp and murmur. We see Saburou killing a monster and Haseo appears behind her. She says he thought he quit but he says eh didn’t and she just says never mind. She says she is quitting though. Haseo says his time is precious, and yells at her to get out of the way. She stops him, offering him some times to revive him if he dies saying she knows he needs these. Along with them he gets his member address. Haseo runs off, leaving Saburou there. She compares him to a drop of water on a frying pan, asking if he can reach his goal before he evaporates. Tabby is walking along town when she hears everyone talking about how Taihaku of Ikoro defeated the Painful Forest. Haseo is still making his way through the forest, trying to avoid combat so he can hurry up. Saburou meets with Pai and the two of them talk, mostly Saburou complaining about how she doesn’t really know anything and is being left out of a lot of stuff, all the while even though Pai used to be Ender and such she still holds a high position in the game about knowing things. Saburou kind of tells Pai that she is out of all this. Phyllo and Tabby are talking; Tabby tells Phyllo how Taihaku cleared the forest. She says how she just wishes she could help Haseo, as time is running out. Phyllo says that this is frustration, that this isn’t’ a fairly tale that even if she tries her hardest all she can do is watch, but in this case that’s all she has to do. Haseo arrives at twin swords stuck in a rock and he pulls them out. He just looks at them saying that this is bullshit; he didn’t come here for a weapon. He is then teleported to the same place Taihaku was, and in front of the same big red thing. Yata is watching him on screens and sees him disappear. He kind of scowls, flipping though some monitors, not being able to find Haseo. Pai says how this is impossible and Yata just stares at the monitor. The red thing asks Haseo the same thing, if his daughter is well. Haseo just yells at him as to what the hell he is talking about, and says he doesn’t know who the hell his daughter is. All this time yelling in a pretty angry voice at him. The red thing says he will not grant him the sword and Haseo is shocked by something and numbers flash all around him and Haseo screams in pain as the plane around him disappears.
Tabby zones into the painful forest just near the main gate, away from the monsters, and just stares out over the forest. Meanwhile, we see Phyllo standing in front of Taihaku in his big guild palace place. Phyllo says how he didn’t expect him to be able to win that event. Taihaku just looks at him, saying that the two of them never had much of a relationship. They only had interaction with each other through some contracts long ago. Taihaku guesses he is here because he is worried about someone in the forest. Phyllo says he just wants the person to get defeated and give up. Phyllo starts to leave and Taihaku says that he shouldn’t stand in the way of someone’s goal of getting better. Phyllo just says that all that awaits him after fighting is more fighting. Meanwhile, back with Tabby, the guy who was taking to her she met previously zones in and asks if he can keep her company. He says he thought she would be here and she says she just wants to give him her support. He says Haseo is lucky to have such a friend and Tabby says how Haseo doesn’t think of her as a friend, he find her annoying. He asks why she is still cheering for him and she just says it’s something that she wants to do. Pai and Yata are searching for Haseo with no avail. Tabby hears the announcement in the area that in three minutes the area will be deleted as the event is closing. The guy tells her they should leave and tabby says no, that she will wait for him. The area starts to deteriorate and all of a sudden there is a black flash of light that hits the ground and Haseo falls to the ground right next to Tabby. He starts to stand up, but in new evil looking armor much to Tabby’s shock. Haseo just stands up, breathing heavily and looking angry. Yata sees this and gets serious, he tells Pai that it is unmistakable, he is a Factor Possessor.
Impressions:
Well we get the transformation into the armor that Haseo has in the beginning of G.U., although I find it a bit odd that he was given the armor that way. Supposedly Multi Weapons, in order to get their next level of weapon which comes with new armor, they have to do some quest. Although Haseo just kind of comes into his final level of armor suddenly after the whole incident, so does this mean he has the heavy blade sword and the scythe? Although Haseo getting his new armor is big, I think the huge thing in this episode was the Harold thing that appeared. Although it kind of looked like a woman because of the anatomy, it spoke in a man’s voice and asked about his daughter, which could likely only be referring to Aura. Although he seemed to survive whatever the thing that may be Harold did to him, it is hard to say what he did or why he survived. Also why because of his change into armor Yata knew that he was Factor Possessor, whatever exactly that is, probably referring to being an Epitaph User.
I’m surprised how much Tabby is still around. I mean right now she isn’t really doing anything iatrical to the story and as far as I know she isn’t in G.U. So I’m kind of wondering how or why they are going to wrap her up. Phyllo is again given even more mystery again with his apparent connection to Taihaku and some kind of contracts he used to have with him. Also, now that the forest event is over with it will be interesting to see how much more Taihaku is around too, although he isn’t’ an epitaph user or anything there are other important characters and I know he is still around for G.U.
