Kyo and Ryoko are out on a scouting mission when attacked by Gards-Orm, along with Sin. When they return to the Oceanus, a crisis ensues when they find that Sin has managed to infiltrate the ship.

Summary:
We start off seeing Kyo sitting by Ryoko’s hospital bed, talking to her having a seemingly normal conversation as if she was awake. He leaves and sees Shizuno in the hall as he is leaving. He thanks her for finding Ryoko and then asks her if she wants to go to the summer festival that is coming up. Shizuno seems happy and Kyo heads off. On the Oceanus Minato is baking some cookies. She finishes and heads into the commander’s office to find he isn’t there. Meanwhile at the Gards-Orm headquarters, Abyss is looking at some monitors when Sin comes in all gleeful and happy, hugging him. Abyss asks why “those without light” fight. Sin says she doesn’t know, but “that” person does. She heads off and we see her leaving in a mecha as well as several other lower level Gards-Orm. Back on the Oceanus, Everyone is on the bridge except for Shima and Shizuno. Kyo asks where Shima is and Minato says she doesn’t know, she didn’t even know he had gone anywhere. Someone says how rare it is for him to go out by himself but Minato says he isn’t alone, and says rather jealously that he is with Shizuno. Kyo says he guesses he can’t do ask him if he isn’t here and Minato guesses what he would ask, why they can’t’ get Ryoko out of the Altair. She says how it would damage the data and cause her to completely disappear. We see off somewhere in the ZegaTank, Shima and Shizuno heading somewhere. Back on the Oceanus, Kyo heads out in the Altair for a scouting mission, getting to talk and spend time with Ryoko so he is happy. On the Oceanus Minato is getting some stats about their situation, apparently out of the original 300 servers made to store people, 11 remain. Kyo and Ryoko go about their scouting mission when they are faced by the Gards-Orm, along with Sin. They fight them off and destroy them, so they head back to the Oceanus as they are out of fuel.
With the Altair back, Minato who hasn’t had to be the main one in charge much before relaxes, but all of s sudden something comes up on the screen as wrong. Someone at one of the stations says there is something wrong; something got transferred back with the Altair. Someone says it’s the Gards-Orm, they have been infiltrated. We see the Altair, and an injured Sin crawling on the outside of the mecha. Kyo and Ryoko who are still in the cockpit see Sin crawling on the outside. The window thing disappears and Sin gets right up close to Kyo, seeing the two of them in a kind of thermal view but when she looks at Ryoko there are black patches missing. Sin looks at them, calling them the ones without light. Kyo tries to attack her but goes right though her. Kyo realizes that it’s a real body and since he is an apparition, he can’t hurt her. The other pilots who are in the hanger that were in their Zegas waiting to backup try to attack her with the Zegas as it should be able to harm her, but someone stops Lu Sheng saying she might be carrying a bomb. Sin runs off through the ship and all the pilots except Ryoko teleport to the bridge. Minato is frantic. They find out from sensors she has no bomb, but Minato wonders how the hell she quantum transferred with a real body and someone says she must have an evolved body or something. She watches on monitors as she heads though the ship, wondering where she is going. The ships defenses try to stop her, as the ship is real but even though the lasers and doors can stop her, Sin just touches the walls and we see some data link spread out and she takes control of the defenses and turns them on each other, and opens doors allowing her to progress through the ship. Someone says how she can take control of things like that, that she is just like a Celebrant. They guess from her movement that she is headed for the bridge and they shut the door to the bridge with isn’t’ linked to the computer so she can’t open it.
Sin gets to the door to the bridge3 and realizing she can’t open it, she starts to glow. All of a sudden they see on the bridge something teleport in. Sin appears and everyone is shocked but one of the A.I.s says it’s not a real body; it’s an apparition like everyone else. We see Sin outside sort of in an out of body experience, producing an apparition of herself that is in the bridge. Sin looks around, saying how she isn’t here. She jumps up to Minato who is in the commander’s seat and grabs her by the neck, asking where Shizuno is, but calling her Leru her first name (Family Name). Minato doesn’t’ say anything so Sin starts to glow and Minato screams I pain as she fades in and out. Sin says how she could make her disappear in a second, and asks her where Shizuno is. Minato says she isn’t here and Sin says she sees, and then asks her why they are fighting against them. Minato says to survive. Sin drops her and jumps down. She attacks Lu Sheng but Lu Sheng actually puts up a pretty good fight from all the martial arts he knows but is knocked down anyways. Sin asks the same question but Lu Sheng just asks back why they, The Restored, are fighting against them. Sin then jumps over and attacks Kyo who tries to but up a fight but gets his ass kicked. She asks him, and adds why they fight even though there is no future. Kyo says asks aren’t they the ones who took away that future and he says that he will fight them and win. All of a sudden Sin screams and kneels in pain, and kind of fades in and out. We see that the defense have been turned on her body outside and it is being bombarded with lasers. Sin looks up at one of the A.I.s and asks if it is you. She jumps up and says she hates her, the A.I. and holds out her hand destroying it. The Sin apparition disappears and Sin destroys the defenses and goes back though the ship. She arrives in the hanger where Ryoko still is. She stands before her, bleeding and breathing heavily. Ryoko is startled but asks if she is ok. She asks her why they are fighting and Ryoko says they are fighting to live, so they can protect things irreplaceable to them. Sin is kind of taken back by this, seemingly finally getting an answer she wants. She then gets it and says in a girlish voice and non evil voice that he gets it, she has it too. She says that Ryoko is a good person and looks at her, seeing her as black patches missing. She asks her if she is damaged and then says that she will give her something to make her better. She reaches into her and Ryoko turns all blue and numbers flash around her as she screams in pain. Sin stops it and Ryoko slumps down. She says that she fixed her, that she will like this form. Kyo arrives at the hanger with Lu Sheng, yelling asking if Ryoko is ok. Chris, who was apparently still in his Zega, yells for Sin to die and punches her out of the ship. Kyo heads up to the Altair and Ryoko says barley conscious that Sin did something to her, and she disappears. We see back at the Gards-Orm headquarters, Sin is there and tells Abyss why they are fighting, to protect something irreplaceable. Abyss says no wonder they didn’t understand, they lost things irreplaceable to them when they evolved to this form. On the Oceanus, Shima returns and ask what happened and Minato says its ok, the crisis was adverted. She says to Shizuno that her friend cam looking for her. Back in the fake world, we see Ryoko’s hospital bed empty and Ryoko outside on a bench, petting a cat.
Impressions:
Ok, this is getting extremely exciting. This episode was just suspense and hints and mystery. First of all now that we are getting more involvement and information about them, there is even more questions about who the Restored are, who Sin and Abyss are. Also, there keeps getting more and more things done to Ryoko, unsure of now what she is or how her data is. We also now have the mystery of why Shima and Shizuno were gone and why Sin personally knows Shizuno.
The huge thing in this episode was how much we saw Sin. We learned a lot about them and got way more involvement from them then we normally did. We find out they are referred to as the Restored. Apparently they have a real body but they are also special because they can make an apparition and they can quantum transfer. My guess is that they are somehow people or something that used to be in a server but were “restored” and given a body. This would explain partially why they are invincible coming back after they die because they are data that is in a body, the body may die but the data which is themselves can just keep getting transferred, that’s why they don’t understand about something irreplaceable. Another thing involving the Restored, mainly Sin, is how the hell Sin seems to know Shizuno personally, even went looking for her aboard the ship. My best guess is if the Restored really are things that used to be in the computers that means they used to be normal humans before everything happened. Maybe Sin knows Shizuno from then.
I don’t like what’s happening to Ryoko, at all. Yes I know basically Ryoko is kind of fixed they said and we saw her out and about in the real world and supposedly everything is normal, BUT they said in the preview how Ryoko’s emotional data is still in the Altair. So does that mean she is like some robot personality wise in the fake world? Or that all her emotional memories are wiped and she basically doesn’t have feelings for Kyo? Also, I really don’t like Sin’s comment, “I will give this to you.” It really really makes me think that there is something much more behind what happened to Ryoko. Supposedly Sin and Abyss are with light and everyone else is without it, now did Sin give Ryoko light and kind of evolves her? If so, is she going to turn into what Sin and Abyss are?
Again there was some mystery behind Shima and Shizuno this time as the two of them went out together on what I guess is the ZegaTank. They didn’t tell anyone they were going and didn’t tell them what they were doing so they had to be doing something that will probably be vital to the story.
