Bokura ga Ita - 03

Nana looks forward to seeing Yano for the play rehearsals since its summer but gets worried and depressed when he doesn’t show up so she seeks him out. We also see a lot about Yano’s past.

Summary:

We start out seeing Nana just lying down, saying how bored she is because its summer and there’s nothing to do, and that she can’t see Yano. She looks at her calendar where she has marked off the days until the rehearsal for her class play where she will be able to see Yano, looking forward to it. The day comes and she finds out that Yano isn’t there and that he won’t be coming. Nana freaks out saying how irresponsible he is and then to herself how she really wanted to see him. At home she is sitting around depressed because Yano didn’t come to the next rehearsal either. She gets a call from her friend asking if she wants to go to the festival and she says she will go but probably won’t wear a yukata. Her friend then says she will be inviting Yano’s group as well so nana freaks out and looks for her Yukata. She wears it and heads to the festival where she meets up with her friends and they all say how good the yukata looks on her. The boys arrive but nana notices how again there is no Yano. All the boys say how Nan looks different and Nan gets embarrassed saying to herself that if her school uniform was a yukata she would be more popular with boys. They go about the festival and do normal things when Nan spots Take. She runs up and says how it’s good to see him here and asks who he is here with. He says Yano isn’t here. Nana gets really embarrassed but kind of admits that is what she was asking about. She goes with her friends to tell them Yano isn’t coming and they sit and watch the fireworks saying how it seems futile to try and do anything with him. That he doesn’t seem interested in anything Nana reflects on this saying how she wore her Yukata here with anticipation, and counted the days to rehearsal and it really was all for nothing. Nana’s friends leave as it is nearing the end of the festival when Take comes up to her saying how he can’t reach Yano. Nan says it’s ok and just looks up at the fireworks. Take says how it must be hard for him, since the anniversary of “her” death just passed. Nana says how she didn’t know that, and thinks about it. Take heads off and says that nana looks cute in her yukata. The next day Nana goes over to Yano’s house. She waits outside the gate wondering if she should go in, all the while Yano is watching her. He calls out to her that she is a stalker and Nana gets embarrassed. Eventually she comes in and sits with Yano in his room. She tries to talk to him saying stuff like she was worried since he hasn’t been to rehearsals. He just says tits because he doesn’t feel like coming to school during summer. She asks what really is the case and Yano gets serious saying that he is overwhelmed by memories of Nana (The dead ex-girlfriend Nana, god its going to get complicated). They talk for a bit more in a lighter mood, arguing and laughing. Nana thinks however how he isn’t really affected and gets up to leave saying how she was glad to see him. She stops however and says to him how the one he really really loves may not be here anymore but he isn’t alone, that she will look over him and protect him. She says there are people who still really really love him and he hasn’t hit rock bottom, so he should think he is alone. Nana then heads out.

The next day at rehearsal and finds that Yano has come. They start to do some work and Yano shows Nan that he has a picture of her in her Yukata on his phone. Nana gets really shocked and holds her mouth, tearing up. Yano says how he wishes he could have been there. He starts to try and yell at her for what she said to him before, how she doesn’t understand but says how that’s a lie. He says what she said really made him happy and he rests his head on her chest. She holds him and they stay like that a bit. Some time goes by and school has started. She sees him sleeping after class or after some rehearsal and wonders what he is dreaming about. We flashback to Yano’s past where he is eating in some café with his friends. They see Nana (The ex-girlfriend Nana) with her boyfriend and there is a fight and the boyfriend leaves. Nana comes over saying how they are from the same class as Yuri and asks if they could lend her some money as he left without paying. She sits with them and talks a bit. They see a bruise on her arm and she says how it’s from her boyfriend but says that it’s ok and kind of makes light of the situation. They go their separate ways and on the way home Yano sees Nana waiting by herself in the cold. Eventually he goes over there, buying her a hot drink and asking if she is waiting for her boyfriend. She says she knows he won’t come. She says how she is collecting her anger at him. She starts to cry and Yano comforts her. They go someplace under a bridge in the falling snow and talk. Nana complains about her boyfriend and we find she really doesn’t seem to love him and how her boyfriend is really abusive. She asks Yano what she should do and at first he says it’s her problem but he says he will help her later but she has to do what he says. She asks if he will make her happy and he asks what happiness is. She says it’s where people don’t’ cry or get angry. Yano asks if the two of them should find happiness together. The two of them start going out for a while, about half a year basically and we cut to near the end where they are fairly serious in their relationship. We even see a point where the two of them have sex on the walkway above the gym. They spend some of the summer together but at one point Yano notices a bruise on her arm. He asks if he saw him again and she says all she did was see him. He kind of pushes her against the wall and becomes serious and Nana says she is sorry, all she did was see him. The next day when the two of them meet up Yano is covered in cuts and bruises. It was from apparently he got this ass kicked trying to fight the guy to defend her. She is happy he fought for her and the two of them kiss each other. He asks her to promise she will never cheat on him and she does, and they kiss again. We then cut to the time he finds out about her death, he gets a phone call and finds out she was with the ex boyfriend in a car when she died in an accident and Yano seems devastated. Yano then wakes up and apologizes to the main character Nana, for falling asleep and that she should have woken him. She says she didn’t want to in case he was having a happy dream. He asks her what happiness is and she kind of gives the same answer the other Nana did. (If there are anymore references to the two Nanas I’m going to have to start calling them Nana1 and Nana2) Yano asks if she wants to go with him to get some meat buns and she happily accepts and heads off with him.

Impressions:

We are getting a lot more information about Yano and his past, which is getting really interesting. It defiantly seems to be fairly dark and serious, which gave him the kind of profound questions like what is happiness. I think we will likely see more kinds of things like this. Such as, his relationship with his ex girlfriend and his past in general leads him to things that bring him and Nana closer. Although, I think there is likely more to the story then what has been shown, and either they will bring that out fairly soon or it is something that will pop up and perhaps harm whatever relationship is between Yano and Nan at that time. We still don’t’ know exactly why Yano’s ex girlfriend was with that other guy when she died, and perhaps the truth behind that could somehow have an effect because it seems that Yano doesn’t know why either, or either he does and we just don’t’ know about it yet. We also have yet to see why Yuri hates him, I mean yeah he was going out with her sister but why would she HATE him for that. Maybe she blames him for her death or it could be something else because last episode they said how it was kind of Yuri’s fault she died because she didn’t take a good message so we will see.

AAHH, this ep was really cute… Specially when he actually told her the truth and all.
I thought it was SUPER cute when he said that she looked nice in her yukata and he actually saved it on his phone, like he didn’t didnt delete it when he got it, but he acutally kept it on his fone. x333
But I didn’t like how Nana-san was.. kinda slutty.. that bothered me and how she went to go see her ex.
All in all, all of this anime is totally awesome and adorable.
