Louise tries to get Saito to show some talent as there is a familiar competition coming up and the Princess is coming to the academy to see it.

Summary:
We start off seeing a cloaked person entering into some treasure room and taking some jewels, calling herself Fouquet, the Crumbling Dirt. We then see Louise and Saito in Louise’s room. Louise is trying to get Saito to do some things, a trick or show some talent. There is apparently some evaluation fair coming up where the familiars are all judged. Louise tries to come up with something he would be able to do and Saito jokes he could wash her panties since he has to do it so often and Louise just gets mad and yells at him. She says that perhaps he can do some sword skills but Saito says how he isn’t good at it, that he couldn’t do anything when he broke into Count Mott’s place. Being reminded of that, Louise wonders out loud why she hasn’t received any punishment for that yet. Louise has to go to class and tells him to practice with his sword. He tries to but can’t really do anything so he just lies down on the grass. Siesta come sup to him and the two of them walk, talking about the evaluation fair. Siesta tells him how the princess is coming to the evaluation so everyone is working hard and Saito sees everyone practicing with their familiars. Meanwhile, Mr. Colbert one of the teachers is talking with some guards in front of a large door that is apparently the door to the treasure room. The secretary sees that he is telling the guards to leave and has them guard other places since the princess is coming. He says that it’s protected by magic so they should be fine.
The next day, all the students are gathered for the arrival of the princess Henrietta. She is greeted by the principal and heads inside. That night, Louise and Saito are still trying to figure out what to do when there is a knock at the door. Saito answers it and it is the princess cloaked. She runs in and gives Louise a hug saying it’s been a while. They flash back to when Louise and Henrietta were little kids and they are playing together having fun. Back in present time, Louise is saying that Henrietta shouldn’t’ have come here but she says its fine. It is explained to Saito that they were childhood friends. The two of them talk and Saito kind of makes a comment that insults Louise a bit and Louise flips out attacking him, saying not to act that way in front of the princess. Henrietta says its ok and Saito comments how beautiful she is. Henrietta says that she wanted to meet him; she wanted to know what kind of a commoner would stand up to a noble like he did to Mott. She says how it was because of her that Louise hasn’t received any punishment. A little time goes by and the princess heads out, taking a last look at Louise and Saito fighting and comments how nice it must be to be free like that and leaves. The next day at the familiar contest, everyone is showing off their familiar when it comes time for Louise. She tells him to just stand there and bow and they get up on stage. Louise introduces him and says how he is a commoner and everyone laughs at him. Louise looks devastated and Saito yells out to shut up and tries to show off but Louise drags hi off and everyone just laughs some more. Meanwhile, we see Fouquet at the door to the treasure room. She tries to get in but the magic is too strong so she figures there needs to be a strong physical force form the outside. She heads outside and summons what is likely her familiar, a huge earth golem. It punches the castle where the treasure room is but it can’t break through. Just then Louise and Saito see this which is on the other side of the castle from the contest where everyone is. They are announcing the winner, who is Tabitha, but Fouquet says to Louise and Saito how today isn’t their lucky day and the golem grabs at them but Saito pushes Louise away. Saito tells Louise to run but she doesn’t and tries to fire a fireball at the golem. She fires something but it just bounces off the golem and does nothing; however it damaged the castle wall which was protected with magic that not even she could get past. Tabitha is showing off her familiar one last time since she won and the golem breaks though the wall into the treasure room. Fouquet runs in and gets the Staff of Destruction and leaves, having the golem drop Saito. Tabitha saves him from falling with her familiar and Fouquet escapes. After the whole instance Henrietta urns up to Louise saying she is glad she is safe, she must leave and report this all to the court but hopes to see her again, and Saito.
Impressions:
This episode was defiantly very interesting. It was nice actually seeing Saito save Louise by kind of risking himself and telling her to run for her own protection and Louise refusing to and try to save Saito, but again this doesn’t really do anything to their relationship which seems to be progressing awfully slowly for this amount of episodes. It’s a familiars job to basically do what Saito did for Louise and although its kind of a bigger thing that he did it because he doesn’t do what normal familiars do, It wasn’t anything too outrageous of an action that Louise didn’t run away and tried to save Saito because again its her job as a Master and doesn’t show that she has feelings. I’m not saying in any way shape or form that there isn’t going to be something between them, but so far there hasn’t been much to show it.
Well, it’s pretty obvious from this episode that Fouquet is the secretary. First off they have the same hair color and second the secretary was asking before the theft about the kind of defenses that the staff had. I felt really sorry for Louise in this episode. When she was showing of Saito and everyone was making fun of her it looked like she was going to cry and run off the stage or something and I kin of half expected that but Saito interrupted. I was also kind of expecting maybe Henrietta to do something like stand up and say some thing like shame on all of you blah blah blah. There defiantly seems to be a deep relationship there between Louise and Henrietta as they seemed to be really good friends and all and I think that that connection will come into play later in the series as well. Also, we saw that Louise defiantly has some super powerful magic there, just doesn’t really know how to control or use it because she was able to break the barrier around the castle and even Fouquet couldn’t do that. As for Saito, he hasn’t been able to do anything yet which is kind of different from the novels but hopefully we will see him use his powers soon instead of fail over and over again.
I hear you on the current impressions of the plot. Although, the show hasn’t given us (as an audience) much to guess about. Everyone is assuming that Fouquet is the secretary. I mean, it’s so obvious that I’m not sure about that being the case. I’m leaning toward twins or sisters.
I just about died laughing…totally LOL’ed…when Saito suggested that he wash pantsu for his evaluation…I think he was serious.
