Harima escapes with Eri but is forced to spend the night with her in an abandoned temple as they make their way to stop Eri’s engagement, as Tenma has been taken and mistaken for Eri.

Summary:

We start off seeing Eri and Harima escaping on motorcycle, Eri thinking to herself if what she is doing is ok, if this is what she desires. Meanwhile, Tenma is just outside her house when suddenly she disappears after we see a large man dressed as a maid takes her. Eri and Harima are still escaping, Eri apologizing for making Harima go through all this. As they are driving they see car and they both see Tenma in the passenger side and Eri recognizes the person with her as one of her family’s maids. Harima stops the motorcycle and both of them look chocked and wonder what she is doing. Meanwhile at Mikoto’s house, the butler is still there and eating dinner with her and her parents pretending to be Asou much to Mikoto’s discontent. Eri and Harima are still trying to figure out what to do, and Eri gets a message from Tenma on her phone that she has heard about the engagement and that her maid calls her miss. Eri and Harima, and later we find out Tenma figure out that they have mistaken Tenma for Eri and she is being taken to be wed. Harima flips out saying he can’t let that happen and takes off with Eri on his motorcycle. As they ride, they get a flat tire and so they stop at a temple for the night. Eri and Harima go inside and sit in the cold. Eri is sitting there saying how cold it is, that she has the only blanket because Harima let her have it. She thinks about perhaps sharing it but then gets embarrassed saying how that is too intimate. Harima is sitting there in the cold and Eri asks him some question about when he started working at Mikoto’s place. Harima makes up some stuff because Eri still hasn’t realized its Harima. They keep talking and Harima is describing things and Eri seems amazed at how strong a person he is, physically and mentally and asks if she needs to become a stronger person too. Eri then moves over to Harima and shares the blanket with him saying he will get a cold. Eri asks him if he would pretend to be her fiancé so she doesn’t have to get married. Harima agrees to help her and Eri soon falls asleep next to him much to Harima’s surprise. In Eri’s sleep she says “Beardy, you’re the worst.” And to get back at her, Harima takes out a temporary marker and draws a beard and mustache on her.

The next day, Eri and Harima head out, Eri with apparently a clear face. They arrive at Eri’s house and the two of them go change from their worker uniforms and Harima prepares to pretend to be her fiancé to get Eri out of this all as well as find Tenma to rescue her. After Harima changes, he goes into the room where he is supposed to be with Eri and he finds Tenma sitting there. She says that she is Eri. Instead of Harima trying t break apart the relationship he now continues because it is with Tenma, while Tenma’s plan is to help Eri by making her fiancé think she is crude. Meanwhile, Eri is all dressed up and meeting with her mom who apparently she hardly ever sees. She says how beautiful she is and that she hopes Eri won’t refuse this engagement. With Tenma and Harima, the two of them are supposed to be getting to know each other but Tenma keeps doing stupid childish things to try and put off Harima but since its Tenma Harima just accepts everything, much to her surprise. Eri is with her mother and says she is sorry and runs off. She remembers to all the times she spent with her friends, the fun times, and all the good memories. We see that she told her mother that she can’t become engaged yet, she wants to be herself. With Tenma and Harima, Tenma spilled tea on Harima’s hair and he says its ok, slicking it back making him look more like Tenma. Tenma, not being stupid, sees this similarity and struggles with him and puts on sunglasses and a hair-band, making him look like his old self just as Eri comes in. Eri seems to snap and gives him a hard kick.

After the credits, we find out that Hanai heard somehow that Harima was going to get engaged to Eri, but they confused her with Tsukamato. He assumes this is Yakumo and doesn’t know its all fake so he runs off to try and stop the marriage. He rides his bike but it breaks and we see that he ended up staying the night in the temple that Harima and Eri did, but he had to fight some giant raccoon and the racon brushing up agasint Eri is why the drawn on beard disappeared.

Impressions:

This episode was pretty good, it had some nice Eri and Harima moments although for the most part it’s not like the relationship between them advanced or changed or anything because at the time Eri didn’t know it was him. It kind of surprised me how much there was a fairly serious tone here with Eri accepting past her families beliefs that she just wants to e with her friends still and so on. I wasn’t surprised at that choice or anything but it’s like they made it out to be a whole big thing, which isn’t bad or anything either. Eri is a pretty all around good character I think because there is some deeper stuff to her character and personality that you don’t always see in a show like this or in characters in her position.
