Nagisa goes to Shizuma’s villa and learns of the other Etoile, Kaori, but is caught up in a storm and has to spend the night alone with Shizuma at her villa.

Summary:

We start off seeing Nagisa and Shizuma walking together towards her villa. They stop on the way and eat lunch and then continue on their way to her villa. Shizuma mentions how there is no one else around this area for a long time, that it will just be the two of them. All of a sudden it starts to rain hard and Shizuma and Nagisa run the rest of the way to get out of the rain. They are at the front door out of the rain and Shizuma hands Nagisa a key, asking her to open the door as it has been a while for her. They head inside and Nagisa is stunned by how huge it is. She puts the key on a chain around her neck and follows Shizuma. The two of them head up to the next floor and Shizuma tells Nagisa that she can use this shower to warm up because of being in the rain, that there is another shower she will go use so she shouldn’t’ worry about her. The two of them take their showers and Nagisa puts on her robe and just stares out a window, waiting for Shizuma. Shizuma comes with some tea and the two of them sit in front of a fire drinking tea, talking. Nagisa says she feels bad about this and asks why she is telling Nagisa about all this and she just says it’s because of her. They then see that it is storming really hard outside and they say its too dangerous to go back tonight, that they will have to spend the night and so Shizuma calls Miyuki to tell her this which she then tells Tamao who doesn’t seem all too thrilled about them spending the night together.

Shizuma takes Nagisa upstairs to show her her room. She says that this room belonged to her, the other Etoile. She says that her name was Kaori. She says if she were alive she would be the same age as Nagisa. Shizuma says how they were in love and then says some crap about not being sure if they were in love, she can’t tell the difference between true love and innocent love. (wth?) Nagisa listens intently and Shizuma says how she became cold after her death and lost her color but Nagisa is bringing her color back. Shizuma says that she will bring Nagisa some clothes to sleep in so she can change out of her robe. She gets the clothes and she just looks at Nagisa intently and sees the Key on her neck. She flashes to it being some pendant that Kaori wore and in a flash of lighting she sees Kaori in place of Nagisa. Shizuma sees this and starts to say Kaori and cries. She falls to the floor, Nagisa holding her and cries in her arms. Nagisa seeing this starts to cry, realizing she can’t really be there for her as much as she wanted. She starts to cry and she runs outside in the storm. Shizuma chases after her and Nagisa says that, “In the end, I couldn’t do it.” She runs back inside and Shizuma just stands there, looking intently to where she went. The next morning, Shizuma wakes up and notices that Nagisa has already left. Her school uniform which was hanging up is gone and Shizuma just sits there, looking at a picture of Kaori. Nagisa makes it back to the school where Miyuki and Tamao are waiting. Miyuki asks where Shizuma is and she just nods her head no and collapses to the ground.

Impressions:

This episode was surprising mostly uneventful, I was kind of surprised that so little happened. Even Shizuma telling the story of Kaori was extremely short and had hardly any information at all. All we found out was that her name was Kaori, she would be about Nagisa’s age, and they were in love, except they weren’t but they were. We didn’t find out how they met, how they became Etoile, or how she died. Although, I was surprised to hear that she was Nagisa’s age, I was expecting her to be the same age as Shizuma. Again, mostly this episode was fairly uneventful as we didn’t even learn much about Kaori, just that it seems like Shizuma still loves her and Nagisa thinks its her fault that she can’t do more for Shizuma, which I found a bit odd that Nagisa acted that way when Shizuma started crying, like it was Nagisa’s purpose to make Shizuma forget about Kaori. Also one more thing that seemed kind of wrong to me, didn’t they take a car in the last sequence of the previous episode? Did they decide to just go on foot the rest of the way? If so, wouldn’t it have taken Nagisa a hell of a long time to walk all the way back without a car, because it wouldn’t’ seem they would only take the car for a short period, seems like they car would have taken them most of the way and maybe they walked the rest for scenery.
