Nagisa learns about the election for Etoile which is coming up, and that there used to be two Etoile’s and she tries to find out what happened to Shizuma’s partner in her position for Etoile.

Summary:
We start off seeing shots of Nagisa doing various thins, Tamao talking about all the things in autumn there is to do. She says there’s one thing everyone is looking forward to, the election for Etoile is coming up. We see the schools trying to decide who will be Etoile. In Le Rim they say how there wont’ be anyone because basically it just makes whoever’s life harder because of more work. In Spica they say how Mane may become Etoile but she doesn’t want to so it could be Kenjou. The Spica student council is talking about what they should do and Kenjou says she should give up on trying to get Etoile, and looks at her seriously suggesting in itself that she be it. In Miatre they all say how it is really hard to find anyone because Shizuma will be graduating o she can’t be it, and how there aren’t that many good candidates. We see Nagisa asking Tamao what the Etoile election is, as she apparently thought that Etoile was always Etoile. Nagisa explains how it is an election where candidates must past tests such as posture, grace and so on. As they walk, eventually Tamao asks if Nagisa wants to go watch the falling red leaves Saturday. She says it is a beautiful sight a bit away from here and Nagisa says sure. We see the Spica couple conspiring, saying how it’s about time to implement their last plan for the position of Etoile. We see the president alone thinking to herself, saying how Amane is the only one who she could think of nominating for Etoile.
Later that day, Nagisa is walking back to the dorms from the library and Chiyo asks to walk with her. As they walk, Chiyo talks about who will be the candidate for Etoile from Miatre. She says how some of the first years think it will be Tamao, as she is nice and popular. However she fantasizes then about Nagisa asking her to run for Etoile together. Chiyo says out loud however something about a partner and when Nagisa gets to asking she finds out that there are usually two Etoiles. That people run in pairs and the two people together are the Etoile. Nagisa ask why Shizuma is the only Etoile and Chiyo says she doesn’t know herself. That night, she asks Tamao about it and she says that the other Etoile passed away. She asks what happened but Tamao says that she has to think if its ok for her to tell her what happened, so they go to sleep and we see Miyuki alone, thinking how Shizuma has changed ever since “she” passed away. The next day, Nagisa goes to the room where Shizuma and Miyuki were working. She peeks in the door and sees that Shizuma isn’t’ there and Miyuki tells her she is in the greenhouse. She says she isn’t’ here to see her, and comes in. They have some tea together and Nagisa asks about the other Etoile. She says its best for her not to say, that Shizuma should be the one to tell her. That night, Nagisa is playing the piano after dark by herself. Shizuma was walking around the school when she heard it and comes in to listen. She comes over and sits next to her and plays with her, Nagisa saying how she has been practicing so she can play with her. Shizuma says to Nagisa how she wants to go with her to see the falling red leaves tomorrow, Saturday. Nagisa says how she has plans with Tamao but Shizuma interrupts and says she wanted her to go with her; she wants to tell Nagisa the story of the other Etoile. Nagisa returns to her room and apologizes to Tamao about not being able to go, that she wants to hear her story. Shizuma is alone with Miyuki and starts to undress her. Miyuki is telling her how she has changed ever since she died, and has become cold. But lately her heart has begun to warm up and such, that perhaps Nagisa will be the one to bring Shizuma to happiness. Etoile takes off a key from around Miyuki’s neck that was under her clothes. She holds it and says to Miyuki that she has looked after her heart, and thanks her. Miyuki tears up and just says Shizuma’s name. The next day Nagisa and Etoile are in a car together, heading towards Shizuma’s’ villa to see the leaves as Miyuki and Tamao see them off.
Impressions:
Wow, this was an extremely interesting episode, mostly all containing information about Etoile’s past and why her character is as it is. There were also a lot of hints as to what will come in the future. The one thing that surprised me a bit that seemed to be incredibly important information was that there used to be another Etoile that died. That is probably the girl we saw in Etoile’s flashback when she was almost getting intimate with Nagisa and saw a flash of someone. It is also obviously who occupied that room that was empty that they never explained before and just said it’s a vacant room.
It seems defiantly as the reason why Etoile is so cold and such is because the other Etoile died. (I guess I need to start calling Etoile Shizuma now) Then Nagisa came along and kind of started to replace the other Etoile. She made her smile and have fun for the first time which is why Miyuki was so surprised when she saw Shizuma actually smiling, because she apparently hadn’t since the death of the other Etoile. It seems like Miyuki also had a thing for Shizuma, my guess is kind of like Tamao has for Nagisa. It seems as if Miyuki has realized that she will never be with Shizuma and that Nagisa will take the place of the other Etoile in Shizuma’s heart.
I believe that Nagisa will probably run for Etoile. There doesn’t seem to be anybody remotely featured enough from Miatre that could become Etoile except her and maybe Tamao. My guess would be she would run with Etoile, no matter how much Chiyo fantasizes about it. Although, I feel incredibly sorry for Tamao. This isn’t the first time or anything that Nagisa has just ditched her for Shizuma. Although still unsure with how relationships will finish in the end, it seems as if Nagisa will run for Etoile or not and it seems that Tamao would be the most likely choice for her to go with.
