As Saito is still reeling from the pain of his life as a familiar, he gets seduced by Kirche much to Louise’s discontent.

Summary:

We start off with Saito doing the laundry outside in the cold morning. He flashes back to Louise telling him he has to do a huge pile of it because it piled up while he was sleeping and revering for three days. Saito mentions she was nice to go without sleep and take care of him during that time but Louise just says that as a master to a familiar it’s her job and he is getting the wrong impression. Louise comes out and yells at him for being so slow and says when he is done with the wash to accompany her to the classroom. Later, Saito is sitting next to Louise in class as they go through things. Kirche mentions when the teacher says how most of everyone here can use one magic, that Louise can’t use any and Saito kind of smirks saying he understands now. After class Saito is walking with Louise saying he gets why everyone calls her Louise the Zero, saying how she has zero attributes and a magic success rate of zero. Louise just walks along fuming and Saito says he made a song for her and signs about what a useless sorcerer she is and laughs along but Louise gets really pissed and says that for every time he said zero there will be no meals for him, which was like four. Saito apologizes and says he is sorry but Louise stands firm. That night, after going without two meals Saito is begging her saying he may die of starvation and as a master she can’t let that happen. She says fine and lets him off and she says thank you, that it doesn’t matter if her magic is zero or her breast are zero. After saying this Louise gets extremely pissed off again and says no more meals ever, and he has to sleep in the hall.

While trying to get to sleep, freezing to death in the hall Siesta walks up to him. She takes him to the kitchen where the other commoner people work and they all feed him a lot since they have leftovers, calling Saito their hero because even though he is a commoner he managed to be the arrogant brat noble. After eating he returns to the hallways when he is attacked by Kirche’s familiar. The familiar takes him to Kirche’s room where she tries to seduce him. They keep getting interrupted by guys who come by saying they had scheduled being together. Eventually Louise breaks in to Kirche’s room and tells her to give him back Saito. Eventually Saito goes with her but Kirche says she won’t give up, as she says that she is in love with him. Back in Louise’s room she yells at him for being with Kirche, saying that her familiar and Kirche’s family are enemies and she can’t let them get anything, not even a dog such as him. She starts whipping him with a horse whip. After being hit he explains that her salamander carried him to her and there’s nothing her could of do9ne. She says how since he is a swordsman he should have fought but he says that time before was the first time he has ever held a sword, and besides he doesn’t have a sword with him or anything.

The next morning the two of them head out, as it is the day of nothing, or basically like Sunday and there is no classes. Kirche from her room sees the two of them heading out on horse somewhere so Kirche runs into Tabitha’s room, asking her to help her chase them down because she’s in love. Eventually Tabitha agrees and takes Kirche on her dragon familiar to go after Saito and Louise. In some town/village, Saito and Louise are walking around. They stop at a weapons store to buy a sword for Saito. After being shown a really good expensive one Louise says how she can’t afford it and they end up buying a fairly crappy looking one but its all she could afford. Saito asks why they couldn’t have bought a better one and Louise just says she recently bought something expensive and Saito remembers Siesta telling him that the remedy Louise bought for him was an expensive one. Back at Louise’s room, Kirche comes in and gives Saito the really expensive sword they were looking at and Louise says how they were following her. Saito looks at both swords Louise and Kirche fight against each other and tell Saito to pick a sword. He realizes that this is more then just the sword and asks cowardly if he can pick both. The crappy looking sword then begins to talk to everyone’s surprise and Kirche says how she got an intelligent sword. Saito says how he wants that one and Louise ask herself why all the weird things gather around her.

Impressions:

This relationship between Saito and Louise seems to be progressing rather slowly. I mean there are the hints and everything there and you kind of figure that something will be there, but so far it seems as she still sees him and treats him as less then human. I don’t really think that we will see anything happen between the two of them with this short of a series, near the end there will likely be some point where they realize their feelings for each other but I don’t think anything will be done about it. We did see more of Siesta and will obviously be seeing more of her as her involvement in probably having feelings for Saito could lead Louise to realize hers.

Aside from all the deeper stuff this episode was great. I loved the whole “Where are you holding?!” “Well there’s nothing there so I thought it was your stomach.” I also liked Yuki’s Tabitha’s comment to her familiar. “Horse. Two People. Don’t eat them.” We also see the connection to Shana growing as the voice that does the sword is the same voice that did the talking book in Shana.
