A fairly light episode, where Hakuoro has to adjust to life as the new emperor wand the arrival of two new characters from the bird kingdom that are there to make an alliance with the new country.

Summary:

We start off with Hakuoro and co. waving goodbye to Teoro and his wife ad some of the other villagers from the beginning. They are headed back to their village to live and wish Hakuoro and Eruruu well, telling Aruruu to behave herself. Life goes on throughout the new country as some aftermath things are taken care of such as re building some forts and Hakuoro in some meetings about requests people have made, typical emperor things that he has to deal with. Hakuoro is then notified by Benawi about the arrival of the Onkami. They are sort of a people, with wings, that look over all the countries tying to prevent catastrophes and intervene when needed. Hakuoro heads out to great them, greeting the princess Urutorii and her escort Munto as well as some subjects. Urutorii says she is there as a delegate and that she wishes for friendship with their new country.

Hakuoro sets them up in the mansion, giving them rooms and having a private talk with Urutorii and Munto along with Benawi. Eruruu comes in serving tea and Hakuoro tells Urutorii that Eruruu is part of her family. She asks if she is the queen but he says no, she is more like a sister to me and we see Eruruu with a sad almost look of disappointment on her face. Urutorii asks to see the living conditions of the people here and Hakuoro tells them that Eruruu can escort them. Hakuoro is busy with a mountain of work and letters he has to read and approve and such. He looks outside tot eh moon and decides to take a walk. He goes down by the water and sees a girl with black wings flying above the water, skimming the water with her hands and flying up in the air, captivating Hakuoro. He looks away for a second and she is gone. Meanwhile, Urutorii is talking with Eruruu. Eruruu says how she is becoming a physician to be like her grandmother. When Hakuoro returns to the mansion he sees the black winged girl sleeping in a bed. He stands there for a second confused and she wakes up startled. She looks around confused asking if he can see her and she asks what she is talking about. She makes herself invisible for about two seconds and tries to sneak off thinking she is still invisible. Hakuoro says he still sees her and she just runs off but comes running back when started by Mukuru. Urutorii comes in asking if he has seen a silver haired girl with black wings and she sees her hiding in the room, addressing her as her sister telling her to come out. Hakuoro says its ok she is here and he will find her a room.

The next day, Hakuoro is in the middle of a lot of work, and Kamyu the black winged girl is being forced to study with Munto. Kamyu sees Aruruu out the window and goes out trying to say hi and introduce herself, make friends with her but Aruruu just runs away. She keeps trying to approach her but Aruruu keeps running off. She runs into Hakuoro and she begs him not to tell her sister she snuck away from studying. He says it’s ok; he snuck away from work as well. He tells Kamyu a way to get Aruruu to be her friend like she wants. Kamyu finds Aruruu with Yuzuha and she offers her some honeycomb. Aruruu takes it saying they will eat together and when she takes a bite and says its delicious Aruruu gets happy and eventually the three of them, Kamyu, Aruruu and Yuzuha play together for a long time. At night, Urutorii is again talking with Eruruu but this time mentions how she knows Tusukuru, that anyone striving to become a physician would know her. She comforts Eruruu about being sad about her grandma being gone. The next day, the Onkami have to leave, saying they wish for the both of them to have a long lasting friendship. Aruruu waves goodbye to Kamyu, Kamyu telling her she will be back to play soon.

Impressions:

I liked this episode a lot, it had a lot more light moments with comedy in it then some of the previous episodes, as the major arc that they had been on about overthrowing the emperor is over. It makes me wonder a bit what is going to be the next major conflict as this is now over and everyone seems happier then they were before with Hakuoro as their new leader, the bird people who overlook countries and such seem to like and approve of Hakuoro’s new country and say its an improvement on the other one so as of now we don’t have much of a hint on if the show will continue a while with light content with comedy or there will be a new conflict.

There were some great comedy moments in this episode. First there was the “final report” Eruruu read to the whole court written by Aruruu “Sister was laughing in her sleep. Very scary.” It was priceless Eruruu’s face as she was embarrassed and yelled out Aruruu though the court. I also especially loved Kamyu trying to become friends with Aruruu, as she kept approaching her in different ways but she kept running away. It was also just funny her first coming there and thinking she was invisible but not, and then trying it again but again to no prevail. It seems her character and personality is just that where she will be fairly outgoing with humorous aspects to it but I think there is a bigger history to her and she will play a big role mainly because her wings are black. I mean, she is the sister to the other princess and she has white wings, everyone else we’ve seen has white wings so there has to be some reason for her black wings and I think it will be of one that has an impact later on in the story, but just as of now Kamyu is defiantly one of my favorite characters because of her personality and such.

One thing that I just noticed and it struck me and I felt so sorry for Eruruu was when Hakuoro said Eruruu is like a sister to him. When he said that, there was just a tragic look on Eruruu’s face of failure and disappointment/sadness. She obviously herself cares a lot about Hakuoro and likely likes him and has feelings for him but it is as if Hakuoro doesn’t even see her like that and that really seemed to get to Eruruu. I still think there will be some advancement between them but as of now it seems fairly hopeless for Eruruu as Hakuoro has to deal with being emperor and probably doesn’t have any time to spend with her.
