We get the arrival of Karen to the group and some insight into Yuu’s history as well as Sayaka’s desperate attempt to try and help Aya.

Summary:

We start off with the arrival of the ship heading for the groups area. Morimoto and Yuu both say that it could be an enemy and not Shuuhei himself returning so Yuu, Kazuhiko and Ryouta head out to the hanger after it has filled with air again and ready themselves with guns. Karen steps out and Kazuhiko yells at her. She turns around holding two sub machine guns versus their two pistols. Karen mentions that Shuuhei said it would be a bit different then this. Ryouta is surprised and asks how she knows Shuuhei. She said he told her to come here. They all sit together and Karen tells everyone what happened. When Shuuhei arrived Karen was fighting some Sukyura things and Shuuhei arrived. She found him and pointed her gun but he said now isn’t’ the time for the two of them to be fighting, there are bigger mutual problems. She says all her comrades were attacked and killed by the Sukyura things except for Gale and Aya the hostage. Shuuhei tells her to take the ship and head to Sheratan where there are no Sukyura. He says Ryouta should understand and make allow her to stay.

We see Aki come in and Kazuhiko and her start arguing like always. Namane is there acting really innocent asking why they are yelling, she asks if they hate each other. She has to be explained things like a child she is. Meanwhile we see Aya and Gale safe together having escaped for now from the Sukyura. Gale says all the escape pods are gone so they have to find a different way out. We also then see Sayaka and Ryouta talking. From what Karen said, Sayaka has learned that Aya is safe but she is in Hamal with the enemies and such, even though she is with Gale. Sayaka wants to go herself to rescue her but Ryouta says she can’t, as a leader he is saying no. Yuu takes Karen to her room and the two of them get talking, obviously not likely each other from the start. Karen mentions something about someone named Shinn who is working hand in hand with Cellaria. Yuu, hearing this name is shocked and heads off. We see a flashback of a younger Yuu and a younger Shinn, the long white haired man we briefly saw with the terrorists once. The two of them are in a village like area in the middle of a war and Shinn runs off to save someone and Yuu never sees him again.

Namane and Nao are spending a lot of time together. Nao tells Namane about how great Shuuhei is and Namane asks if it’s ok to call Nao “Mother” she says its ok. Wee see again Gale and Aya together, finding some food and sticking together. Aya seems unworried saying she has a reliable friend to count on, Sayaka. Ryouta is staring at the dragonfly tank when Morimoto comes. Ryouta talks about how he doesn’t think he can be a leader but Morimoto says he is fine. Meanwhile Aki and Kazuhiko seem to notice something wrong. The door to the hanger has opened. Ryouta and Morimoto head there to find Sayaka trying to leave on her own to save Aya. Ryouta tries to stop her but Sayaka keeps saying how she doesn’t understand her feelings. Morimoto slaps her saying how Ryouta’s decision is the right one. Yuu then arrives after briefly talking to Karen about where Shinn is. Yuu says she will go instead. Ryouta allows it and Yuu heads off to find Shinn and to rescue Aya so it seems Ryouta thinks.

Impressions:

I was a bit surprised at how quick everyone just accepted Karen. I mean I understand that the situation has changed and they now both have a common enemy which is Cellaria and the Sukyura but still they were a little quick in accepting her given that the other day she was trying to kill them. It seems however that now she is going to become a member of the team fighting against Cellaria. We will probably either see Gale and Aya join them soon or they won’t join up with them for a while. They could join them and then all fight against each other the rest of the series but it seems more logical for them to drag it out and there be some rescue attempt.

It was interesting that we actually got some drama between Sayaka and Ryouta. The two of them seem the most likely to get together next since Shuuhei and Nao are basically already paired up. They seemed to get along before this and there were even some classic romance/comedy moments between them but Sayaka seemed kind of stupid in this episode towards Ryouta. She basically wanted to go into the enemy stronghold herself and rescue someone she didn’t know where exactly se was when she is one of the least capable fighters there. Ryouta was absolutely right; he was acting like a leader by giving a direct order for her not to go. Although that tension between them I still think there is enough room and that they will get together.

Yuu’s story seemed to be very interesting over anything else. The fact that she knows this Shinn person who we have previously seen as a bad guy working with Cellaria was interesting. It seemed a bit like Yuu didn’t think of him as someone evil and in the flashbacks all we saw was the two of them together and Shinn running off to save someone. Apparently Yuu thought he died after that but it shows that she though of him dieing to do something good so him first off being alive and second off being evil was a double shocker to him and I think we will defiantly see some further advancement between the two of them. Although I kind of see Yuu dieing now, since she went off and such as especially with Ryouta telling her to come back it makes for a perfect scenario for her to die.
