A fairly light episode with some good comedy bits as everyone heads to the summer festival but Hazumu stresses over her inability to make a decision between Tomari and Yasuna.

Summary:

We get started eventually with Hazumu, Tomari, Yasuna and Ayuki at a café. Hazumu hasn’t decided yet what to get while everyone else already has. She kind of passes out from tying to decide between the two suggestions Tomari and Yasuna makes. They get talking about the summer festival and how they should all go together. They said they should all wear yukatas and Tomari kind of gets embarrassed, not having any as she isn’t’ always entirely feminine. Tomari runs home asking her mom to buy her a yukata but after getting a lot of grief from her brother about how she is acting feminine unlike normal she goes out to buy one herself. At the store it turns out she doesn’t have enough money to buy one but she runs into Yasuna there.

At Hazumu’s house she is trying on yukata with Jan Puu. She gets lots of pictures of her taken but after that Sora mentions how he expects a lot from her at the festival, as from what he read the festival is a time for love and the whole thing between her and Yasuna and Tomari is interesting to him. He says this will be the perfect chance for something to happen. Meanwhile at Yasuna’s house, Tomari is there trying on a yukata she ends up borrowing from Yasuna as she can’t buy one herself. She thanks her even though it is kind of awkward between them but she says it’s ok because they have been doing stuff together such as the beach and the test of courage.

They all arrive at the festival and start heading to all the booths and having a fun time between all four of them. Eventually Tomari and Yasuna both offer a food at the same time and again she can’t pick between the two of them. Eventually she runs off saying she has to go to the bathroom. She heads towards the woods and cries to herself how she isn’t able to pick between them. She is approached by Sora and she says how whenever she sees cotton candy she gets sad but she doesn’t remember why. He uses some alien thing and jogs her memory and she remembers one time at a summer festival when she was little and a boy not being able to pick between tow colors of cotton candy and ends up not getting any. She relates this back to Tomari and Yasuna and starts crying that she can’t pick between Tomari and Yasuna but if she doesn’t pick she will wind up loosing both of them. Tomari and Yasuna overhear her crying this to herself and when she returns they both offer her the two colors of cotton candy at the same time and they say she can have both. Hazumu is really happy and they spend the rest of the time together having fun.

Impressions:

This episode had some really funny parts such as Tomari’s embarrassment over buying a yukata or Hazumu and Jan Puu trying them on. I also really found Tomari’s brother’s comment hilarious when she asked her mom to buy her a Yukata he freaked out saying she must be delusional from the heat and something is seriously wrong with her, she is acting like a girl. There were some other parts but I think the serious parts of this episode are really important. It brought out the fact that if Hazumu keeps with her indecisiveness then she could very well end up loosing both Tomari and Yasuna. Although from hearing this Tomari and Yasuna decide to just say she can have both, using the cotton candy as a metaphor but I think ultimately that is the subject this series boils down to and the problem that will surface in the future.

I think that, especially since they focus on it like this, in the end Hazumu will choose one of them. I don’t think they will leave it with a whole its ok we can all be friends for now and such. I think that we will see more drama between both of them and she will decide. Right now it’s hard to tell who she will pick, on one hand Tomari has known Hazumu for a long time and although shy and a bit rough at times she really has always cared about Hazumu. On the other hand we have Yasuna with her yurivision, not being able to see guys and that inability I think will be brought up again at the end, will really score her some pity points.
