Keiichi works job after job in order to save up enough money while getting some “help” from Urd along the way.

Summary:

We start off with Keiichi and Belldandy at work at a small store. All the customers are lining up at Belldandy’s register even though the line is long and Keiichi’s is open just because Belldandy is, well Belldandy. After work they get to talking about Christmas and Belldandy is completely clueless about things like Santa Claus. They run into the little girl that Keiichi had helped out last season and which had appeared a couple of times. Keiichi asks her what girls would like for a present because he wants to get Belldandy something since they haven’t done much relationship wise. The girl says a ring and Keiichi looks a ring that is way too expensive for him but would be great for Belldandy.

The next day when Keiichi is alone he is looking at the ring and hears it telling him to “Buy Me” he is confused and message repeats but gets turned into “Buy Me for Urd” Keiichi kind of does a double take and there is shrunken down Urd on his shoulder whispering this to him, although I don’t know why he couldn’t have realized the sound coming to only that ear and have seen her out of the corner of his eye. After talking with Urd about getting the ring for Belldandy and Urd encouraging him to do so he decides to get extra jobs and work until he gets enough money for it.

Keiichi starts working all day and most of the night to earn enough money for Belldandy. He worries that he is making Belldandy worry about him too much since he is out late and always exhausted. He gets enough money if he includes one more days of work so he tells Belldandy to meet him somewhere where he will give her the present. When he finally gets to the jewelry shop he finds out that the ring he has been working for has just been bought by Sayoko. Keiichi begs Sayoko to sell him the ring and she agrees if he and Urd who is with him do some various things. She tells Urd to polish her shoe and for Keiichi to recover a balloon from a high up dangerous place. Keiichi accepts and tries to get the balloon even though Belldandy who is there now tries to tell him it’s dangerous. Keiichi falls and Belldandy saves him. Even though Keiichi didn’t recover the balloon Sayoko sold him the ring and he gives it to Belldandy. Belldandy kisses him on the cheek and the episode comes to an end.

Impressions:

I could have sworn this exact same episode was in one of the five OVA Episodes from the five episode OVA series of Ah! My Goddess. Keiichi wants to get a ring for Belldandy, he works multiple jobs long into the night, Belldandy worries, and he barely gets the ring.

Well we got more of an advancement with Keiichi and Belldandy’s relationship, not only with him getting her a ring like a boyfriend would but the kiss that she gave him at the end. Like I’ve said before I don’t’ think they will advance that much further in the series all together, keeping a somewhat coward ness of Keiichi as to moving on but we will probably still see some.

My favorite part of this episode was when Keiichi was talking to Skuld about Christmas and asks her what she would want. “What do you want for Christmas?” “An adjustable wrench, an ignition spanner, an automatic driller, and electric wires.” I also liked how clueless Belldandy was when Keiichi was trying to explain what Santa Claus was to her.
