School Rumble 2nd Season - 03

The survival game comes to a conclusion with some very funny moments throughout.

Summary:

We start off right where we left off with the two guys being held up at gun point by the man dressed like Eri. They are about to be killed but are saved when Itoko fro some reason snipes at Man Eri from a rooftop and Man Eri retreats.

We then go to the scene of some people shooting out with others from behind barricades when all of a sudden Karasuma takes them out swiftly. Meanwhile Mikoto stumbles across a room full of dead enemies and wonders that it was they were fighting then when Yuuki from the band team attacks. Mikoto is saved by Hanai and Yuuki tells them that the band is participating now. Hanai refuses to shoot Yuuki but Mikoto does it and gives this speech about how they are at war.

We then go to Tenma and Eri who are guarding the flag. Eri sees someone outside their room so she goes to investigate but gets killed. Tenma investigates and finds Karasuma. Meanwhile Mikoto and Hanai are ambushed by the remaining band team members. Mikoto and Hanai manage to defeat them all so only Karasuma is left from the band team. Just when Mikoto and Hanai relax Harima kills Mikoto in front of Hanai and he gets all pissed off.

Karasuma and Tenma are at a face off; there is no way Tenma would shoot Karasuma. When Karasuma tells her of why they are fighting she gets all emotional and readies to kill herself so that they can play at the festival but Karasuma stops her and kills himself. Meanwhile there is a big showdown between Hanai and Harima. Their shootout goes on for some time and during the fight Hanai asks Harima if he loves Yakumo but Harima doesn’t answer. Eventually Harima looses and tells Hanai that he Yakumo isn’t the one he likes and Hanai gets all emotional about killing him like they do in movies a lot.

All throughout this Akira and Itoko were making a movie out of everything. When the game ends a hard-ass teacher finds out about all of it and makes them do both of them, then he finds out about the band so he makes them do all three. At the classroom Harima gets ticked at Hanai for getting everyone’s attention about how they will work hard so he brings up him getting all emotional over Mikoto and everyone in the class jumps to conclusions that they are going out and they like each other and the episode ends.

Impressions:

Same premise as the previous episode but much more action it seemed with more direct confrontations. Again I think what made this episode so hilarious was they treated people dieing in the game mostly like they really had died. The showdown between Harima and Hanai was cool; it was actually a good battle in and by itself. Also, even though I seem to a lot through the first season dislike Karasuma I thought he was incredibly cool when he participated in the game.

Although I think for a while now we will have them dealing with the festival, its preparation as well as the festival itself I think we will see sometime thought the series still an episode similar to this one where things have a weird setting or premise. We didn’t get much in the advancement of relationships throughout this even though that is what the first season centered on a lot but this was an odd episode so I defiantly think we will see more of that, some more especially with Eri and her liking Harima which wasn’t touched on as much during first season.

Its not a real shoot out, its amongst the class to find out which activity they’re going to do for the festival. They make it seem like its real which adds to the fun of it, but after the two episodes in which they are shooting at each other things go back to normal, no one actually dies.
