Site On Undetermined Hiatus – Farewell

I’ve been running this site for several years now. I’ve always enjoyed it even without thousands of viewers or comments, its been a great way to simply keep myself involved in watching the latest anime and thinking about them critically. However, as is apparent from my latest post before this being so long ago, I’ve been very pressed for time and no longer are able to keep it going. I loved running the site, but simply don’t have time any more so figured I should stop leaving it inactive and unsure like this and actually make up my mind.

You can follow me on Twitter @Xeby_chan and I will continue to post some things such as figure and dollfie photography on figure.fm under username Xebek. Or, you can always contact me via the methods listed under Contact Us.

Thank you all again for your time, running this site has been a lot of fun and I feel its too bad i don’t have time anymore, but I’ll still be doing what I can via the methods above. Thanks again.

Natsume Yuujinchou San [First Impressions]

There are just some shows that you know are going to be great to watch. After two strong seasons there really wasn’t any doubt that I wanted to check out the third season of Natsume.

Deadman Wonderland [Final Impressions]

Sorry about the lateness here, some computer problems played into that. Still even a couple months past, this is a series I won’t be forgetting about any time soon.

Dantalian no Shoka – First Impressions

I generally tend to play it pretty safe lately as far as what anime I pick up to watch. In other words, going with the anime that isn’t likely to be spectacular, just something that is good, funny, and a clichéd story. Now, I still very much enjoy those anime, the typical school/romance/comedy can be very good no matter how many times its done, if done right, but watching the first episode of Dantalian makes me wish I took a few more chances. Dantalian really drew me in with the first episode. I’m not sure how it’ll turn out, what exactly the overall plot will be like or anything like that but so far it has me interested in finding out.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! – First Impressions

I’m not too sure about this show. I followed the first season when it came out because I didn’t’ know anything about it, and felt I should give some attention to the second season but the first didn’t impress me at all, and neither does this one so far.

Hanasaku Iroha – So Little Going On, Yet So Interesting

It’s a bit hard to say much about this show. Not because it isn’t good or that it isn’t interesting. In fact I like it quite a bit. The reason it’s a bit hard to say much about it is that while the show is interesting, it’s interesting in a rather plain way. It’s nothing new for a slice of life anime like this to focus on mundane things. There are quite a lot of different things a slice of life can focus on from romance, to family problems and drama, work, etc. While to some degree this show has those things, it doesn’t take them too far. The show is not some drama fest about these horrible events and how bad someone’s life is. The show isn’t filled with anguish, betrayal and trying to get through hard points in life. The show is about life, not the specific things about it that might make for an engaging story, but the whole thing which I think is great.

Hidan no Aria – Final Impressions

It’s hard to say much about this show mainly because it just seems so unfinished. There were so many aspects to it they were throwing out there only to have the show end rather soon, hardly covering any of these issues. I felt that while the show wasn’t the greatest, it had a lot of potential. Sure some of the potential was a bit wasted in what they have shown already, so a great show isn’t guaranteed by a continuation of the story but overall I think there might be some promise for this show if they could just get to some of the bigger and deeper issues that were interesting, just not explored.

Ano Hi Mita Hana – Final Impressions

There are a lot of shows out there that I love. A lot of shows I love give me a feeling of the show being great, good story, good characters but then I add in some things I think they could have done better. I liked the show, except this or I liked the show but think they should have added that. I shrug them off, the critiscms of the show, because they pale in comparison to the good qualities but they are still there. I’ll love the show except for or despite for, etc. These thoughts have no place in my reaction and feelings to Ano Hana.
